Hmmm, sounds like you may need to replace some equipment. If they are using the handsets, I would replace the handsets first (lots on eBay). Then, if that doesn't fix the problem, try handset cords, then replace the phones. You can also just upgrade your system since these phones are pretty old.

Sounds like the extension needs to be programed to ring for incomming calls.
Programming is done on M7310, M7324 and T7316 sets.
To set up ringing you need to enter programming by pressing the feature key followed by **266344.

When prompted to enter the password enter 266344.
The screen should say TERMINALS&SETS. The 4 top line/feature keys are now used for programming.

At the terminals&sets prompt, press the show key (top right arrow).
The display should now ask for an extension number.
Enter extension number you wish to program ringing on.
Press the show key (top right arrow)
The display should sat LINE ACCESS
Press the show key (top right arrow) .
The display should say LINE ASSIGNMENT.
Press the show key (top right arrow) .
The display ask for a line number. press list
The display should say line 001: appear only
press the Chng key till it says appear & ring
press next key (lower right arrow)continue with the remainder of the incoming lines that you have on your telephone
press the release key when finished

There is a contact closure output on the common equipment ("KSU") which can activate an external signal on a ringing line.

The 7208 does not store messages. Do you have a Norstar Voicemail on the system? If so you need auto attendant or direct-in-dual access to retrieve messages. Or via your telco's voicemail if that's what you use.

Most likely there is a button stuck somewhere.

best is to contact your local tech and ask him to help. they dont give the password or code to anybody otherwise it will be misused.

This only shows on the operator extension. It is there to notify you that a Night or Evening or some other service is turned on. You can press the LIST soft key to find out which service is in effect. You can cancel the service, but then you also cancel the purpose of the service like night ringing or directing some lines straight to voice mail. Feature #871 will cancel ringing service, #872 will cancel restrictions service, and #873 will cancel routing services.

Each mailbox has the ability to be assigned to a different extension number than the MB #. This makes it very difficult to manage a system when this happens. It will take someone with voice mail programming knowledge to get into the voice mail system to check each mailbox's programming to find it.

This requires a message on hold device and depending on which device you have the methods vary. Check instructions for your device. If you do not have an MOH device, you will need to contact your phone vendor to obtain one.

Check Forward Busy under Capabilities in programming, any phone that has lines ringing this setting should be set to NONE.Also make sure line 3 is assigned to ring at those phones.If unsure of programming the phone system or password call your local tech to come in.

Feature 981 will get you into the mailbox. You may or may not need the password though.

Reboot phone system or pull the jumpers off and re punch down to KSU.Lines need to be programmed a Supervision Disconnect = YES both on phone system and the carrier, call a tech in to do this/check and also put in a repair ticket with the carrier to do same.Supervision Disconnect monitors the lines to when you hang up it knows to release the line. Muck like back in the day you could hangup on that crank caller, pick up the phone a aminute later and he was still there.

This is tech side of programming and not Admin, if you don't know config password or how to program then call a tech.If you do know then:First find out what line #, do F*0 then press the button and note the full number on the display.i.e. Line 5 in programming is Line 005, 025 or 031 depending on software version.
