I do not use my invare electric wheelchair daily.
The model is pronto m51. I have never kept it on the charger 24/7. I haven't used it in two weeks, now the battery is dead and won't take a charge. I have no instructions as it was donated to me. Where is the battery and can it be charged? Any help would be wonderful. Dot
Most likely you need new batteries. On the M51 powerchair the batteries are located in the center under the seat. Step 1 - remove the seat by pulling up on the swivel handle while lifting straight up, the seat weighs about 50 lbs. After removing the seat remove the center plastic cover by liting it off.
If you have an older model M51 the batteries will each have their own cover - to replace the batteries you will see several connectors that must be unplugged. The front and rear batteries each have different connectors so keep them separate. Lift out the batteries and follow the wiring for each replace the batteries. You will need 2 U1 batteries, available at sears or your local maedical equipment supply store ( Interstate has them too) Simply reverse the removal procedure to replace the batteries making sure you follow all the connections. - good luck

how do i reset the curcuit breaker on pront m51
The circuit breaker is located on the base of the chair. It is a small button about half the size of a dime, and it often has a flexible cover over it. If it is tripped, you will feel a click when you push it as it resets.

Wheelchair lights are blinking and I cannot move the chair. It did it the other night, and my husband held something down for a little while and it fixed it. He cannot find the resoution n the manual now. Can youhelp?
You can visit this website to find answers on what the flashing trouble indicator lights mean: http://www.pgdt.com/scenter/diagnostics/diagvsi.html
Locate the page that has the controller used on your power chair/scooter and count how many lights are flashing to diagnose the trouble. Try to reset your system by turning off the power chair, moving the manual brakes from drive to push and then back to drive and turn the power chair back on to see if that clears the problem. If your insurance purchased the power chair for you, they may also cover the repairs; contact them for information.
Good luck!

reset button on pronto m51
There is no reset button on a M51 chair. Invacare puts fuses in the battery harnesses. The manual may say there is a reset but trust me there is not.

why won't my m51 sure step power wheelchair won't move ihave tried a nother controller
There are a number of reasons that could explain why it isn't working, and you haven't provided enough information to give anyone a shot at figuring out the problem. First, why did you replace the controller? And are you speaking of the controller down inside the chair, or the joystick controller. Did you get any flash codes at the joystick, and what were those? Most Invacare control systems are made by Dynamic Controls, but you can't just throw in a part from Dynamic Controls, because Invacare has tweaked them so that you can only use the control systems from Invacare.
There's just not enough you are telling us. Sorry.

Yellow blinking light what does this mean on pronto M41 invacare?
The AMBER service indicator will light when an error or fault occurs. This is a yellow wrench shape. Refer to Diagnostic Codes on page 33 for a listing of the flash codes and what they indicate:

charger seems to have both red and green lites flashing at the same time no sequence and both batteries connected read 4.0 VDC, are these chargers repariable or throw aways
Your manual is here. The section on charging states, that green blinking means your battery is fully charged but blinking red means that your charger is faulty. I would say repairable.
1. Plug the female connector of the AC power cord (supplied) to the AC receptacle on the charger and plug in the male connector on the AC power cord into the wall outlet.
2. The On/Off LED indicator is blinking RED, this is abnormal. Unplug AC power cord from the on-board battery charger and wall outlet. Charger may need to be replaced. Contact an Invacare dealer or qualified technician.
3. When the On/Off LED indicator light is Off, charger is Off.
4. When the Charge LED indicator light is YELLOW, the batteries are charging.
5. When the Charge LED indicator light is solid GREEN, the batteries are fully charged (as their condition will allow).
6. When charging is complete, unplug the male connector of the AC power cord from the wall outlet and then unplug the female connector of the AC power cord from the AC receptacle on the charger.
