L33C-A noma timer instructions

There is a range of answers on fixya for this question already, and some of the links provided, for example http://waterheatertimer.org/Woods-timers-and-manuals.html may help you find an applicable set of instructions. It appears the company that makes these doesn't have a formal Web presence, and recommends 'you contact the place of purchase' for help (or support material) if you need it. The owner's manual ... if you can find it ... had an 800 number to call for advice; I've had no luck in finding an online copy or even a link containing it, but you might Google if desperate. From what I see, you press the up arrow until something like "Prog 1" is displayed, then set days and times following prompts. This is similar to many designs of home 'smart thermostat' and perhaps uses the same control logic.

I have an Aube 3

Utilitec can only replace single-pole switch.
Open following link for typical Utilitec single-pole wiring:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Program-wire-Utilitec-LW60419.html

Aube timer has internal battery that runs clock mechanism and does not require neutral wire.
The Aube battery lets timer replace single-pole or 3-way switch.
Utilitec timer does not have battery, so clock mechanism requires neutral wire, just like plugging in electric clock.
Without battery, timers like Utilitec can only replace single-pole switch.

Open following link to see list of timers that can be used for 3-way:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Aube-timers.html#3-way

When installing 3-way timer, the timer replaces one 3-way switch but other 3-way switch remains.
The remaining 3-way is rewired to accommodate the specific timer being used.
SOME brands of timer cannot replace either 3-way switch, but instead can only replace the 3-way that receives hot wire from breaker: Read manual before selecting timer.

Note: Battery-operated timers can be used for 3-way application, but cannot operate in cold environment.

We had a aube timer

Aube/Honeywell timers have internal rechargeable battery that powers the display.
Battery is not replaceable. Plus the electronics inside timers are susceptible to power surge.
Without the display, timer cannot be used.
These timers come with standard 1 year limited warranty.

Looking for instruction manual for

I have extensive files on timers.
I don't recognize Noma 052-8814-2
Noma is an old Intermatic name that is now used by many companies to describe many models of timers.
There is wide bleed-over of timer names and designs across different manufacturers.

1) Please add a comment and post photo of your timer so I can match with existing manuals.

I have the lightswitch timer.

Most in-wall timer manuals suggest re-setting timer to restore functionality.
If re-set does not restore timer, then timer is probably bad.

To download Aube manuals:
http:///waterheatertimer.org/Aube-timers.html

There are 3 things to remember about timers.
1) Line noise and bad wiring can affect electronics inside timer.
Buy cheap circuit analyzer at home center and test nearby outlet that is on same circuit breaker.
2) Aube timers have internal rechargeable battery and cannot be exposed to temperatures below freezing
3) Industry standard is 1 year limited warranty on timers.

The timer no longer working. I can only turn it on

You posted under Aube in-wall timer.
If this is not your timer, add a comment.

Aube timers have a rechargeable battery that runs timer functions, and timer does not require 120 volts from circuit.

OK, I wrote to Aube about low temperatures affecting their battery.
Aube said, the battery is good down to freezing, and probably lower.
Lower temperatures cause display to slow down and not function, which means timer programs will not work when timer is exposed to cold temperatures.
Manual override would still work, but not programming or display.

So if timer is NOT located inside warm house, for example timer located in unheated garage or shed, then timer will not function in cold temperatures.

That being said, Aube battery is rechargeable.
Battery is not replaceable.
If Aube battery has gone bad, then timer is not repairable.

Intermatic ST01C and EJ500 in-wall timers are also battery operated. Intermatic ST01C and EJ500 battery can be replaced.
Almost all plug-in type timers also have a rechargeable battery that is not replaceable.
Several in-wall timers do not require a battery, but they need power from electric circuit.
To see these timers, plus description how to wire this type of timer:

Lost power and need to

Aube timers have back up battery that recharges after power resumes.
Battery should hold programming during outage.
If battery does not charge, then screen doesn't light up and programming not possible.

Aube makes several timers.

Is there an easy to understand user manual for the

http://www.uheat.co.uk/aube_th132_underfloor_heating_thermostat.htm

TH132 is a thermostat for under-floor heating
Go to the website above and download on-line copy of your manual
On-line manual let you read bigger print & lets you break down the steps easier

I am sure by the time this answer reaches you, the problem will be solved
This is true because manuals are frustrating, until you tell somebody it can't be figured out >> which gives you time to rest >> after which the manual makes sense.

BUT I am frequently wrong, and you may be at a standstill
A quick look at the manual.
You can also select which part of the manual is giving you a problem and then I will help you through that specific difficulty

Wiring: I guess the instructions at bottom of manual apply to your model
Your 240Volt hot wires from breaker box connect to terminals 1 & 5
Your two wires supplying power to heat connect to 2 & 4
Pilot wire to terminal 3
Floor sensor to 6 or 7 >> wire from sensor can connect to either pole
The TH132 has two sensors, 1 located inside the TH132, the other sensor located in floor

Set up:
The first part describes 10 buttons (right away you know this is complicated)
There is a brief description of both sensors
Step 1 shows how to configure the start and temp-display switches

Step 2 covers installation of module on base
I guess you hook up power at this point because the display is supposed to light up
This implies that the bottom part of manual should be located more towards the top, and the power-up directive seems to be missing. Bad manual.
Step 2 shows what the display looks like with first power-up

Step 3 tells how to set current time and day.

Step 4 adjust temp setpoints >> floor temp is pre-programmed to 82 degrees

Step 4 shows that you press-and-hold the sunshine or moon button to have it display
The sunshine button is the upper temp setting, the moon is the lower temp setting

Step 5 is operating mode > choose automatic for programming to operate

Step 6 is programming, which carries on with about 24 steps
If this is your problem area, let me know
Now the manual suggests you make a chart of your programs
Other programmable devices don't work when there is a conflict in programming

Wow I see the TH132 is 'equipped with a proportional adaptive controller..' that carries a two year warranty. I'm sure you'll rest easy knowing that.

Reply back with the specific trouble area, and we'll get it going for you.
