Air in crankcase

is the oil over full ??? then i would suspect a crankcase breather issue which should be in the valve cover... then I would be looking at a head gasket issue, rings or all of the above

Looking at a bed edger and the compression is 90 psi is this something that i should worry about.

The Honda 8HP motor will work OK with 90 psi compression but it's on the lower end of good. Most likely it will need new piston rings and possibly the cylinder resurfaced in the near future. Low compression could also be caused by valves not seating completely either from wear or carbon buildup. Depending on what you are looking to spend it may be worth your while to remove or have removed the head to inspect the valves and cylinder wall.

The engine does not turn over freely. stiff to turn over, got a high spot

THE ENGINE MAY HAVE BEEN TILTED OVER AT SOME STAGE AND YOU MAY HAVE CRANKCASE OIL IN THE CYLINDER. REMOVE THE SPARK PLUG , PLACE THE PLUG BACK IN THE SPARK CAP AND EARTH THE PLUG AWAY FROM THE CYLINDER. CRANK THAT MOTOR UNTIL ALL ENGINE OIL IS OUT OF THE CYLINDER ( SOME CARB CLEANER AND COMPRESSED AIR WILL HELP REMOVE THE LAST RESIDUE. CLEAN UP THE SPARK PLUG , PUT IT BACK IN AND KICK HER IN THE GUTS (YOUR ENGINE THAT IS) ....HOPE THIS WORKS. LET ME KNOW HOW YOU GET ON.....CHEERS....TABBY.

Powerwasher honda 13.0 running fine

If this has the thick silver gas cap, I have had similar problems on a number of these engines because it is a vented fuel cap and it will slow or even stop the fuel flow if they stop venting Try loosening or better yet replacing it. If that doesnt solve it then you may want to drain the fuel and put in fresh fuel Pressure washers will get water in the tank. Also make sure you drain the carb bowl. There is a bolt on the side of the carb bowl for that purpose.

Honda powered gx160 model pressure washer wont start

Buy a new plug, drain out all of the old gas and put in new gas, and take a look at the air cleaner. If the air cleaner is dirty replace it. There you now have a good spark, good fuel and good air. The engine should start. If it doesn't get some carberator cleaner spray and some starting fluid spray.

The engin will start and turn off. Then will not turn on at all.

Im not sure if your saying it wont restart or not even turn over. If it wont start but turns over it sounds like the carborator float may be sticking and flooding out the motor. If this is the case normally after leaving it sit awhile it will drain down and you will be able to restart mower. If your not a do it yourselfer a small engine mechanic would be able to take the carborater apart and clean the jets and or replace a float that may have gotten a pin hole in it. You could try spraying in a small amount of carb cleaner in carb when running to see if it cleans jets.

I have a 8 hp gx240 will star but wont stay running

These carbs are hard to clean up. They are fairly cheap to replace outright so I would suggest that as a fallback option.I would check the float level and make sure the inlet needle for the float is clean and moving freely. It sounds like you are getting fuel at a slower rate than the engine needs to continuously run. You can also have restrictions upstream in the fuel valve, fuel filter or fuel pump. That should be easy to test. You just take the fuel line off the carb and crank the motor and collect the fuel. More than an ounce or two in 10-20 seconds of cranking would be good. Be safe and good luck!

When starting engine ,very hard to get past compression stroke

with someone holding open the trigger on the washer gun try pull starting the engine. If it becomes easier you probably have an unloader that is beginning to stick in the load position. Get a diagram of your pump and locate the unloader and remove it. A light scrubbing with valve body and some silicon grease should free it up. Good luck and be careful!

I have a Honda GX 240 engine mounted on a walk

Remove the spark plug and make sure that oil did not enter into the cylinder. Oil in the cylinder will feel like engine is siezed. With plug remove and engine will not turn suspect more serious problems. If the rod is siezed due to low oil, it can be replace by removing the sump. No big deal and could be nice project. Before you take anything apart, check that the cable to the safety stop is actually releasing. This could also make you think that the engine is siezed.
