Engine on pressure wash stops.

Remove float bowl and check fuel flows freely from the float shutoff valve.
If this is the case, you don't whave to worry about a blocked fuel filter (Which might be in the tank)
Check for any loose electrical connections.
Try a new plug as the insulation of the plug may be breaking down when it gets got (There could be hairline cracks in the ceramic)

I need to replace pull

You can buy abaca fiber or nylon rope of the same length and size if you can't get an original one. Use the original handle bar for pulling. Tie one end of the rope at the center of the bar handle. Thanks for asking FixYa Customer Support.

My BE Honda 5.0 2900

hi there ibharti sounds like gx 160 honda ohv engine

replace the air filter if it has been wet with oil, , remove the float bowl and check for oil in the carb, blow the jets out, top up the oil to the point on the oil filler so that it just spills over when the threads start for the screw in cap ( from memory units only hold 600 or 700 mil of oil
use a 10w/40 or 20w/50 ) as honda have a problem with 30 wheight oil in respect to oil level shutdown sensors ( oil thins out too much ) and switch float does not float

if all is good in carby , remove plug and check oil has not got into combustion chamber
blow out with air if need to , refit plug , reassemble

let er rip , with water connected to pump of course or seals will burn from dry run

note unit may blow blue white smoke for a little while clearing itself , then settle back

in the mean time here is web site for parts if need

go to honda brand ,

Husky ran great for couple

Same old problem... water admitance valve sticking.

Remove the valve spool and clean the bore with crocus cloth on a dowel rod.

Replace O rings and lube lightly with plumber's grease. Reassemble... good as new!

The valve senses pressure and blocks further input water. It sticks in the high pressure position blocking water flow.

We have a new honda

Assuming that you have a pressure gauge to determine actual system pressure. Without pressure gauge, you could use the sound of the engine as test for capacity pressure (if engine and pump are paired correctly, engine will labor at full throttle under high pressure). Using your machine at rated capacity will decrease the life of the unit. Better to use at 75 ~ 80 percent of cap. (2500psi on your unit). Pressure is developed thru the restriction of the tip/orifice assuming that the pump is working correctly. Tip should be correct for the capacity of the pump. Check the pump capacity for gpm (or test by removing tip connect water supply, then with engine running, catch water in bucket for exactly one min. and measure quantity). Example, 4 gallon per minuite should use a tip with 4gpm markings. If wrong tip size is used, (too large, low pressure, too small, pump will go into unload condition resulting in low pressure) . If thru testing you determin that the correct size tip is installed, suspect valves or unloader. Leaking valves or orings that seal valves will cause low pressure and also cause a pulsating sensation. Worn unloader will cause pressure to rise and fall in a slow cycle. Good luck with your repair

Motorturns over hard with pullstarter on my gx340

You have a nice setup, lots of power. The honda gx340 has a compression release built into the engine so it should be relatively easy to start. With the pressure pump under load however, it will be very hard to pull the rope. With water connected hold spray gun open so water is running out tip and pull rope to start (for easy start, remove tip from gun) . If it still feels very hard to pull rope while holding gun open, most likely problem with lubrication in pump or engine valves are not adjusted correctly preventing compression release. If you suspect problem, go to store where you purchased the unit or any store that sells gx340 and pull the rope to get a feel of what force is required to start engine and compare to yours. Good luck.

I have a Honda 4hp

On the water pump there are two rows of large brass plugs. Behind/under each plug is a valve that, if they weren't properly prepared for storage, are either rusted shut or the spring is rusted away. Remove the plugs carefully so as not to round them off and check eash valve. If any are bad replace all of them.

We have a Honda GX390

sounds like the high pressure pump is at fault,, or it could be a bad valve,, you can buy a rebuild kit for the pump and bebuild it your self -- but for just a few dollars more it is sometimes best to take it to a repair shop and have them give the whole unit a good once over just in case there could be something else that might need attention,, ( in the long run this is not a bad idea as this will ensure a longer/trouble free life of the unit ). the turn around time for this service at a repair shop is about 2 to 3 days and the cost of the pump repair and service will be between 85 to 125 dollars ( depending on where you live and what the shops hourly rate is ).

No spark

Have you checked that the ignition switch is on. If so, then check the oil level. Then take the sparkplug out and replace. If still no spark, the ignition coil may be faulty. Take the sparkplug out of motor and rest it on the outside of the hole. Slowly pull the motor over and you should be able to see a spark coming from the sparkplug. If there is no spark then there will be a problem with the ignition coil. Put new ignition coil on and test.

sounds like the seals and o'rings are worn and causing the pump to leak water.also one of the pistons might have a crack in them.dis assemble the pump and inspect the pistons,if none are cracked, then replace all the o'rings and seals.this should stop the pump from leaking.
