Dial tone nortel phone
It\'s in system programming: feature CONFIG, Terminals & Sets, enter ext #, Prime Line: set to I/C (for intercom dial tone) or Line xxx. It is probably set to None based on your description.
Feature codes
Does the two-line display say "Line in use" when you try select the line, or is the indicator next to the line button lit (so to speak), or both? First, try Feature * 0 then press each line key to see if they really are assigned to lines 2 and 3... they could be other functions or multiple appearances of another line.
Password Problem
No trick, does it display "Password:" ?
Nothing displays during password entry, even if you get it wrong. All you can do is press the RETRY softkey and try another. Likely you're using the wrong password.
Change date and time on nortel t7616e
That is a system setting... Depending on what KSU common equipment you have. Feature **TIME might do it, systems with Caller ID Cavan set the clock on an incoming call.

Hi Jo-Anne,
The easiest way to get the lines unlocked is to call your phone service provider and have them reset your lines. You should also go through all the extensions and ensure that Outdial is turned off in the voice mail admin settings. Lines often get locked up when there has been a system hack through Outdial.

do you have a land line or a mobile,it if is a land line phone
please chech from the place where you bought the phone
from probably they will be able to unlock if if is a mobile
phone take it to a service dealer and get it unlocked
T7316 phone does not cancel call forwarding
#73 is a a feature you use on a telephone line to cancel call forwarding (cfw) of an outside call (some codes may differ). You need to have the dial tone of that outside line to cancel the cfw. to cancel the cfw of a norstar set (internal calls to extension) just press the cfw key or press 'feature #4'
We need help with our Nortel system (T7316E). We don't know the admin password.
feature 985 shows you your vm extension #.
feature 983 then try 1029999 (if password was changed to 9999 or something else)
or maybe feature 983 then 738662 'ok' then 266344 'ok'. depending on the norstar system you have.
these are some codes to enter the vm management. What are you trying to do, reset a vm password or other system programming?
I would like my phone to ring only when my extension is called.
Check you button programming by using Feature *0 and starting with the intercom button go up. If a button says "Answer xxxxxx", your phone is programmed to also answer that extension. This can be removed in programming by changing the Answer DN's down from Line Assignment. In this setting use the SCAN soft key to show the extensions assigned.
Call display shows time but not caller number
You also must subscribe, with your local phone company and have caller ID, it is a feature and they do charge a monthly fee for it. If you do have that feature and are still having trouble,
