Are there any prob buying pressure washers from pawn shops

First things to check is are air filter and exhaust. If there is signs of oil then the unit has been tipped and you will probably need to strip the cylinder head to sort it. Also check engine and pump oil levels and start the machine if you are allowed to. If it starts after a few pulls then you have a good chance of it being ok. White exhaust smoke is bad if constant as it is oil burning. Blue smoke isn't quite so bad as it indicates (probably) rich fuel/air mixture. Puff of white smoke that doesn't stay constant is also a sign that the machine may have been tipped at some time and it is just the oil residue burning of the cylinder head.

Water in the oil

Bad Ju-Ju. this can mean that water is leaking past the plungers. try removing all the oil and replacing it then see if and how much water is in there.

Have a honda 11 horse

Cause of no spark can be determined by process of elimination. Good to have a new sparkplug on hand to eliminate plug as fault. So start by replacing plug with new or test plug on mower /edger etc. for spark. If plug ok, then temporarily remove the wire connected to oil alert system (oil alert will ground coil if oil low or dirty). With oil alert unpluged, and no spark suspect sparkplug boot or coil. The sparkplug boot threads on to the spartplug wire and is what actually fits-on to the spark plug. You can test the coil by removing the boot and inserting piece of paperclip wire, or small screw into end of the coil wire and hold close to engine ground while pulling rope. If still no spark suspect coil. If spark, replace the boot. Good luck with repair.

O rings are splitting in

Like a lot of parts out there, there is cheap made parts. O rings fit and that category. Most your standard 0 off the shelf O rings are not made for high pressure. Take a little trip down to home depot, or Lowells or ace hardware. Tell them you need the high pressure O rings for a pressure sprayer. They have different kinds, thicknesses and made out of different rubbers/plastics. Hope this helps. Thanks mike

What causes my pressure washer

Is the heat causing any problems? If its a gas powered motor it will get very hot, this is normal since you are burning gasoline inside the engine. If its an electric motor then there is probably a problem with one of the bearings.

Pump manifold on North Star

If it is just a small crack I would use a dremel or similar tool to cut a small v groove along the site of the crack. If you can find it I have had execellent results with a product called 20 min. epoxy. It is a two part epoxy that you just cut off a small portion off and mixthem together by rubbing the in your hand until they turn a uniform light grey color.Make sure that surface is clean, dry.and free of any oily matter.Push the epoxy firmly into crack and smooth with a wet finger. The only place that I have been able to find this product is at a plumbing supply outlet. Best of luck to you and thanks.

I can't get the machine

This is usually caused by either a plugged siphon line or if you are using the high pressure tips (red, yellow, white or green) on the wand. Check that the siphon line doesn't have any debris or bugs in it. The only way the siphon hose will work is if you use the low pressure, black soap tip on the end of the wand. The other tips cause too much back pressure for the cleaning solutions to be picked up by the hose.
