I changed the water filter on our rs2545sh e and i

1) Filter Indicator

1-1)This indicator initially lights in green. The light color will be changed to orange after 5 month operation then to red

at the 6th month. The EEPROM in the control board counts a period of time regardless of a power failure.

1-2)To reset the counter and the light color, press Ice Type button and Child lock button for 3 seconds simultaneously.

1-3)If these two buttons are pressed simultaneously for 5 seconds, this function will cease.

1-4)To restore this function, press these buttons again for 3 seconds.

I was able to locate this information in the RS2534WW Service Manual. Samsung does mention this in the their user manual. I have no idea why. Anyway if this has been helpful please rate my solution. I will be here if you have any more questions, Thanks Sea Breeze

The drain in the freezer behind back lower panel
needs opening. You can see it at the bottom of the back panel
underneath the evaporator coils. (The cold coils)
Run Hot water in the drain until it clears or use a hairdryer.
When the defrost melts the water it goes down the drain
If the drain is clogged with Ice or ? The defrost water
overflows into the ref. or freezer or on floor
Run Hot water in the drain until it clears or use a hairdryer.
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath

How do i check why me freezer is not working

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.
First I would check cold control. Thats where you turn it off, if your temp is not warm. it can
be defective and not shutting off. If your temp is warm proceed with the following.
I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if FREEZER CONTROL is turned WARMER WHICH MAKES THE REF COLDER AND VICE-VERSA. SEE?
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
But is probably a common defrost problem The ice build up
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath
Make sure back cover is on the fridge. Some take them off and throw them away.
make one out of cardboard if its gone, using the holes of the old one.

How do i check to see why my freezer is not

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem

Sounds like the cold control has stuck . Unplug the two wires from the cold control and plug them together. Turn one wire over and plug it into the other. away from the cold control.
The cold control is the knob in the ref that turns it on and off and has numbers on it. (Thermostat)
If it runs then that cold control (Thernostat) is the problem.
If that doesn't work DO THIS:
The relay on the compressor may need replaced
A relay starts the compressor with a higher voltage and then quickly kicks out
Thats what is happening with yours
Its best for a tech to replace The relay but you can do it
Take your model number to your Local Appliance parts store they will have a diagram
showing you how to install the relay. Its called a hard start relay
also try hooking the two wires together on the cold control to route around the cold control.
Be sure the BACK COVER is in place and hasnt been accidently removed.

I have a samsung refrigerator.

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.
Check Temp inside freezer. It has to be down to about 10 or 15 degrees
This can cause slow ice making if its too high even tho its freezing everything else at 25 degrees
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
The icemaker is 110v
See if water is in icemaker.
Pour water in Ice Maker and wait to see if it ejects.
If it ejects thenyou need to replace water valve in rear bottom of fridge(Its the part that
attaches to water line out of wall)
If it doesn't eject then it is a faulty Ice Maker.
If its leaking or no water at icemaker or door either one, then the valve at the rear bottom of ref needs replacing
I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if freezer control is turned WARMER, which makes the Ref. colder
Also if it is getting drinking water to the door but not to the icemaker (or vice versa) Then you need to replace
the water valve at the bottom rear of the fridge. It is a double valve and one side is not working
Also this might be a common Defrost problem, Ice
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.

Refrigerator will not maintain proper temperature

Check in the back of the fridge section; there is normally a control that is provided for 'balancing' the cold air between the two sections. That coolled air is distributed by a concealed fan that may not be running; you should be able to ear or feel the air movement when the unit is in a cooling cycle.

My Samsung RS2534 side by

Hi mminottoi2004,

It uses a defrost element, built into the evaporator to melt the ice once every 1 - 2 hours. I suspect one of the sensors are failing, or the defrost element is faulty or worse.

You can test the defrost element with a decent multimeter, make sure power is getting to it, in at least 1 to 11/2 hours. If no power ever reaches the element, even when the compressor shuts off, then more likely the problem is the PCB. If power does reach it, but it does not get warm, the defrost emelent needs replacing.

Testing sensors on Samsung models are nearly impossible, so I am not even going to advise it. The resistance readings never make sense.

So in a nutshell: 1) Faulty Defrost Element or 2) Faulty Sensors or 3) Faulty PCB.

Kind Regards

JEDEMEYER1

Your indications does not make sense! Your unit has ONE compressor that uses ONE evaporator coil to cool both sides. So if the FREEZER side is not cooling the fridge side should not cool either! Are you sure you don't have the freezer and refrigerator sides reversed?

Both fresh food and freezer compartments are not

if you can not find the defrost procedure...just turn it off and let it defrost by itself ...leave it open and remove all the stuff ..and when it is completely defrosted..just set it to a lower temperature..and also clean it good so that will be no water or humidity inside...to prevent frosting again ...
the thinbg to look for os the fan to be working ..(if the fan is freezing it will not circulate the air ...and will freeze in one spot and be warm in another ..causing condense and frost ...it is a vicious circle )
Just to be sure you set it correctly ..set it to 38F on the fridge ..and somewhere around 20 F in the freezer

I have a samsung side by side srs537nw. both side

Had exactly the same problem. Found the cooling coils are not defrosting, everything was iced up inside the back panels. The drain was blocked, water pooling underneath also.

Remove all the plastic panels in the back of the freezer, including the temp. sensor (unplug) and fan (unplug). Defrost everything with a hair drier.

Make sure that the drain at the bottom is free, a small plastic tube which takes water down into a pan where it is evaporated by the compressor etc.

Replace the defrost sensor - the most likely faulty part. This costs about $Au 20.00 from Samsung (just ask for a defrost sensor for the model of fridge). This sensor fits in a plastic cage attached to the top of the cooling coils, has wires which plug into a socket. Reassemble the fridge and see if this has solved the problem.

If the fridge still does not defrost automatically, you may need to replace the circuit board ($Au 80.00 from Samsung). This board is found from the back of the fridge, in a plastic box behind a back panel at the bottom of the back of the fridge. Lots of wires to unplug!

There may be other problems, like a faulty thermostat on the valve which controls circulation of cold air into the fridge from the freezer, I have no experience of solving this.

Samsung mechanics are HOPELESS in my experience, replacing the two parts above will be less expensive than a call to them. Good luck!
