Dell Studio 15 Laptop - Page 9 Questions & Answers
My Dell laptop #S1555 won't
Software can lock the CD drive preventing you from ejecting. If this is the problem, turn off the machine, turn on, when the DELL screen flashes, push the eject button several times and the CD will eject.
If that doesn't work, look for a small hole the size of a paper clip and gently push a paper clip into it. When you meet resistance, the drawer will start to open. You can then pull it open carefully. The computer can be off when you try this.
If neither work, then you might have a jammed CD, i.e. incorrectly inserted. You can try to force the drawer open with your fingers but don't use so much force you strip the plastic gears.

If the system is 2 months old, your best bet is Dell Tech Support as the system should be under warranty. If you hold the D Key and press the power button this should run the LCD BIST and you should get 4 solid colored screens. If you don't the LCD is bad. If you do, then the issue is likely the video card.
My cd has been strucked in cd rom can u help me...

If the disk is stuck in the drive you arre going to have open the system to get the disk out because there is something wrong with the drive. This is the downside to a slot base ROM drive.
So if you are still under warranty I would call Dell. If you are not in warranty I would contact your local repair shop.
Let me know if you have any more problems or questions

My file, edit view etc toolbar dissapeard from the
Firefox version applied to: 3.6 and upwards.
You can check your version:
Right click on the shortcut Get the Properties and go to the Version tab and Click on Product Version
To hide the Menu Bar, right-click on an empty area in the toolbars and uncheck Menu Bar to hide. If you need to access the menu bar, simply press the ALT key and the menu bar will re-appear temporarily.
Firefox version applied to: Prior to 3.6 (3.5 Series) - Better if you can update.
Firefox 3.5 users can also hide their Menu Bar, but will need an extension such as Personal Menu or Compact Menu 2. If you need to know further details about it please let us know the Add-on you have used.
There are many Add-ons for FF and you have to remember which one you are having if you have used one. Anyway Right clicking on the Tool bar space will give you a menu and check for Unticked Option related to Hide / Minimize Tool bar.
If the solution solved your problem and if you feel its helpful please rate the answer with a testimonial.
Thanks for contacting fixya

try updating the mousepad drivers, maybe they are not good. there may be new ones on the dell site that would work better with your machine. it sounds just like the issue you get with some sony machines where the drivers are no good as standard.
My dell laptop is showing a blue colored vertical
You can go to support.dell.com to order just the screen. If you are technically inclined, and can follow a service manual (that you can also download from support.dell.com) you can actually replace the screen yourself.
Its not too hard. Without getting into too much detail:
Turn the laptop off.
Remove the battery.
Remove the Power Button display plate.
Remove the keyboard.
Unscrew the hinges holding the screen to the base of the laptop.
Pry open the border of the screen.
Remove the screws holding the screen and replace with the new one.
Laptop keys sticking
Try the following:
1. You need to clean up your laptop keys by a soft paintbrush or vacuum cleaner. Try removing the keys by gently pulling it sidewards.
2. Run virus update and scanning. Probably there is a VIRUS on your system
Thanks. Cheers!
