Laptop turns on but no display
When you say that the laptop turns on do you hear the windows login sound? If yes there should be some hardware problem with the laptop. Get in touch with DELL if the laptop is under warranty then they would be replacing the display.
Keyboard trouble and heat
The Cursor jumping can be resolved by going to the touchpad properties
and enabling touchcheck (Palmcheck is some drivers) this will disable
the touchpad while typing.
Ad far as dealing with heat, canned compressed air blowing dust out of the air intake/exhaust will normally help cooling
HOW DO i GET CD TO EJECT? WHAT DO I HIT?
There is an eject button on the drive tray, when the notebook is powered up then press this button to open the tray.
If it still does not open then straighten a paper clip and insert it into the pin hole in the tray and push it in gently until the tray pop out, you can then pull the tray fully out to get at the CD.
How do I remove forgotten BIOS password?
1) You can reset BIOS to default settings by pressing <Alt><F>
2) I am not sure about the laptops, but in the Dell Desktops usually there is a reset jumper on the motherboard which is seated on 2pins out of 3, you just need to remove that jumper turn on the pc once and the turn on the pc again by reseating the jumper to its original place. You can try this with your laptop, I guess the jumper should be somewhere close to the CMOS battery.
3) Remove the battery and keep it away for atleast 30 mins. and replace it again.
NOTE: make sure while following step (3) and (4) the system should be completely turned off. Unplug the AC adapter, remove the battery and hold the power button for atleast 8 - 10 seconds.
let me know the output
Disc will not eject from dell studio laptop
try this first. go to the computer window then right click on the dvd icon then click on eject. if this fails then restart the computer once sees dell logo then keep tapping on f2 once you reach the bios screen press the eject button from the media control check if it will do. if fails since you are already in the bios screen look for the bios verion take note of it, exit the bios screen boot normally to windows. go to the internet support.dell.com to download the latest bios version. after downloading the latest bios i want you to uninstall the dvd firmware, go to the computer icon right click then properties, this will show you the properties windows then click on device manager, on the device manager window click on the + sign beside dvd / cd rom then underneath right click on the device driver then uninstall. reboot the computer. once you back in windows it will automatically reinstall the driver. if this fails thats the time you are going to flash the bios you previously downloaded.
CD won't eject from E: How do I get it out??
straighten out a pin the same size as a paperclip look close to your open button on the dvd-cd drive and there is a tiny hole press in till you feel the little button it will allow you to manually open the drive and get your disc out
DVD is stuck and drive is not listed
Look very closely at your dvd drive bezel, you should be able to see a small hole usually just below the draw.
Straighten out a paper clip and push it, quite firmly into the hole, this is the failsafe method of opening a locked/jammed disk drive.
Screen began to flicker whenever
sounds like it can be a loose LCD/video cable. Check the online manual of your system through support.dell.com for the LCD for reference on how you can remove and reconnect the cable that connects the LCD to the motherboard. Hope this helps and your feedback on how useful it is will be appreciated. Good luck
My studio 15 laptop isn't
Try firstly removing the laptop's
battery as it may be at a critical voltage and the system will not
start because of it. Plug in your ac adapror and monitor what
happens. Does the power light illuminate? If it does it should then
boot up, if it doesn't, try a known good ac adaptor before going any
further.
If the adaptor is fine then you have a mother board fault
and should contact a dealer/repairer for further advice.
Hope this
helps.
I cannot get my CD
In an emergency you can use an unbent paperclip (or anything similar) in the tiny hole on the front of the drive, that will release the catch and open the drive. You can do this with the notebook on or off.
