The problem may be the DC jack in the laptop, plug the power supply in and put your hand on the DC jack and slowly apply pressure sideways "not to hard" and at the same time press the power button repeatedly to see if it will start, if yes! the DC jack in the laptop needs to be resold-ed back on the motherboard or replaced. Sounds as if he may have activated 'bitlocker' on your drive. Ask him for the pin code he used and if you get in disable 'bitlocker'. Highlight the drive in My Computer>right click and select turn off bitlocker.

If code is on bios, you must just reset bios, if pass is on OS, you must try to log in with User Admin without pass, if u are not able to do this... Reinstal OS my friend... succes!
