For any phone, you select the manual mode (i.e if it's on Automatic). You then search for network. Afetr search if 3G is available, it will be shown so just select it.
Remember 3G network might not be available in all locations.

HTC might help you with this because it is so new. However if you dropped it (etc.) and if HTC doesn't replace it for you, You can get the part at HTC s740 Repair and there is a guide that shows you how to put in the part at HTC Repair Guide.

my suggestion would be to replace the battery.
also you could have something running and eating up your battery. If you text alot the could be using the battery also.
But i would definitely replace the battery, you may just have a bad one.

As long as yu have the grps enable on your accunt you should be able to access the internet as you handset if andriod and dosent need settings

please call Network Operator customer care and say the cellphone model number.and the phonenumber then they will send the gprs settings to your cellphone save the settings and switch off your cellphone and again switch on. then you should be able to access, ;) $5 pls :)

This can be expensive to the cost of the phone and you must take an estimate from an HTC service as the parts may not be available elsewhere with the correct specs.
If you think the estimates are good enough proceed or else try to swap off for a new one with a cost for the old phone.-- taken for spares .
