Freud FT2000E 3 Router - Page 3 Questions & Answers
Where can i get a new switch for the 2000e?
OK the switch I found that you need is part number 76325.7001 and to find it I would suggest going to Freudtools.com and they have a dealer locator on the home page, if you have trouble give me your location with zip code and I will find one for you. Good luck
Hi I have A freud
I have had a similar problem with my hitachi m 12 v. I ground the end of a long flat piece of metal so that it would fit around the collet. Mine had sort of a lip on it that the home made tool would fit under. the thing I made was shaped like an open end wrench. I had to grind it down so it would be thin enough to fit under the lip and just fit around the collet. Then I hit it with a small hammer. a few times on each side of the collet. I kept going from one side to the other until the collet popped out.

If the router operates, and at full power, you could use an aftermarket rheostat for controlling the router speed. Rockler hardware sells one, others retailers may as well.
If this is not an option, a tool repair person (one of those old-timers...the "handy" ones that can improvise repairs and take pride in doing it) may be able to provide an option to keep it working for you.
Hope this helps.
