Secondly, your lock may be new enough for you to talk them into warrantying it, and thirdly, they will be able to get the correct part on order for you.Be prepared to find the replacement costs to be expensive enough to warrant considering a new lock altogether. Personally, I've seen enough problems with the Powerbolt on this website to make me consider buying almost anything but! I think that Schlage makes a pretty good product.
Deadbolt not retracting properly what to do
If your lock is new and defective, you should have no problem getting a replacement. However, before you do, make sure of three things:Does the lock cycle properly with the door open but now when closed? If so, you are experiencing a mechanical bind between the door and the door jamb.Is the lock "handed" properly? There is a jumper located internal of the lock with three pins; the jumper is across two of them. This controls whether the lock is installed for use with a door whose hinges are at the right or left as you face it. ( right-hand or left-hand opening). You may need to move the jumper from across pins 1 & 2 to across pins 2 & 3 or vice versa because it may be "backwards" for the way you have it installed.Thirdly,I recommend that you go through the installation programming process, beginning with removing & reinstalling the batteries to assure they are installed correctly. Just sayin'. Good luck!
