Kohler cv15 no spark at the plug.
If you disconnected the stop wire it is a coil ground wire and still cannot get a spark to the head at about 1/4 inch from the head the coil is bad. The only other thing could be a broken or loose magnet under the flywheel but that is very very rare.

No spark on my 14 hp kohler engine
Sometimes there is rust on the crankshaft and the magneto can not pick up the signal. Leave the sensor on the engine, try cleaning the rust off the crank damper and then run a clean rag between the sensor and crank. The gap varies but a old fashion matchbook seems to work in case the sensor is loose. Good Luck

sometimes there is a adjustment screw that you can turn just like a car.CAREFUL NOT TO TURN TO MUCH.to burn lean or rich.also you might want to change the fuel and air filter's first, then try to adjust.

While mowing, my john deere 15 hp mower started
My JD with 15 hp Kohler did the same thing.
You will need to pull the air filter housing off the carb. then remove the two nuts holding the carb to the engine. Disconnect the Gov. and trottle linkage (little tricky, but you can do it.)
Once you have the carb off the motor I'm pretty confident you will find the inside brass circular door (the one on the outside is the choke) has lost a screw and does not pivot correctly. You need to secure the baffle door to the pivot, replace all parts and she will no longer race.

Kohler motor starts then carb loads up with gas
If the engine is running rough then this could mean that you have weak spark or valve adjustment. When an engine runs rough it will not burn all the fuel, which will create excess fuel in the air cleaner housing. Also, make sure the the float is closing in the carberator.

15 HP OHV Kohler engine with no compression
Have you checked for a bad head gasket?
Check the intake valve springs or the intake valve shafts to be sure they aren't stuck open. Another cause could be excessive carbon build up on the intake valve causing them to not seal.
If you've gone this far, you could try a compression leak down test. If you still have the push rods out, you can use or get an adapter that will allow you to pressurize the cylinder(s) with air by removing the spark plug. Apply 70-80 psi air directly to the cylinder (the cylinder may go to BDC (bottom dead center) but if you don't have any push rods, the valves can't open.
Listen carefully - if you hear air leaking out of the carb, it's a bad intake valve. If you hear air from the exhaust, it's an exhaust valve. If you hear air from the crankcase breather, it's piston rings.

Kohler Command 12.5 OHV (starter?)
You should properly test the battery. A dead cell in a battery will absorb the current that you are trying to supply by jumping.
There may be a fault in the wiring system, thus not allowing enough current to properly supply the starter. Construct a way to temp. connect the positive jumper cable lead to the tractors battery cable connection on the starter that will not short circuit and connect the other poss. end to your trucks poss.battery terminal and then connect the ground lead as normal but to the tractors frame, then attempt to start. If this allows the starter to operate properly then disconnect your jumpers and Inspect the positive and ground wires for insulation cracks, blisters and corrosion. Also check the connections for being clean and tight.
You could also remove the spark plugs ( to release compression that will allow the engine spin free) to see if the starter will then turn the engine.
If all fails, sorry to say, your starter may be weak and in need of replacement.
Good luck

Non-starting CV 15 S
First what needs to be established is if it is a fuel or spark related issue.
1. test for a sparkissue: using a spark tester inserted in to the spark plug boot and clamped to bare metal on the engine. Engage the starter while inspecting for signs of spark.
2. Test for a fuel issue: using fuel in a stream style spray bottle outside and away from your building. remove the air filter assy. so as to open the throttle butterfly and spray a small amount of fuel into the carburetors air cylinder, close the throttle butterfly and attempt to start, listening for a reaction.
If the engine was retired for a season and was not prepped for storage properly, then my guess would be that unspent fuel that was left in the carburetor float bowl and may have varnished, thus clogging the carburetors ventries. If this is the case. a float bowl cleaning will resolve the issue.
Another typical issue are safety switches that are not engaged or faulty and can be found at one or all of these locations.
1.neutral safety switch found at the gear shift area
2.PTO drive lever area
3. Clutch/brake pedal switch
4. Operators seat switch, under the seat
All of which could cause the coil not to fire. Most of which are ground switches that could be unplugged to by-pass.
Possible issue could be a fouled or faulty spark plug.
I hope this helps.
Good luck
