Generac over-speed fault

check your frequency of the ac, if this is high, then adjust the rpms. If that is fine and it is shutting down, check overspeed adjustment on control board if it has it.

Generac guardian rv generator starts and runs but after a couple minutes the power stops.....generator still runs??

Usually the generator will shut down if the ac is not present coming out of the generator. You stated that it still runs but no power on the output. Check your breakers first to make sure they are working properly. Depending on what board you have you can check to see if ac is present getting back to the board as well. If your board does not have this then they are using the frequency as a safety disconnect feature. That would lead you back to the regulator or loose connection or..dirty slip rings if this unit has brushes.

Twice my 14 KW has faulted on low voltage, reset and tried it again and it run just fine. Both times it was after a very cold weather condition below 0 temps. Would it help to put some type of heat tr

I do not like to see generators exposed to those conditions ever put into service without some sort of heater that energizes on cold conditions. When a generator starts, it quickly goes to full speed in order to provide the correct frequency AC power. Normally, engines do not like this abuse! Your dealer should be able to guide you re available options.

I have 17K propane powered Generac Guardian and every time I move the control switch from the off position to the auto position the 7.5 amp fuse blows.

Then there is a short in the wiring somewhere, to find it will take a lot of close examination of the wiring.

I have a 20kw generac standby generator, where the starter tries to engage after the generator starts up and is running. Only has 316 running hours. Installed new starter in 2016.

The starter pinion drive gear is sticking.... its the smaller gear on the shaft that moves up and down to engage the flywheel gear and start the motor. Carefully put a LITTLE hi temp grease on the shift splines (curved ones) and see how much that helps. The gear is not staying "retracted"..if this doesn't help.. the spring that pushes the gear back down may not be strong enough...(you could always fix both)

My generac generator came on and there is no power outage. It has a solid green light but seems hot

With the brand name of a generator, this does not matter in most cases, but it may happen that the circuit breaker is defective or is only ejected, nevertheless, always use a multimeter for operating reliability, if that does not help the second thing Is a large capacitor intern where the plug blocks are located mostly at the rear of the generator. The capacitor may be deformed or even short-circuited in rare cases. fault finding repair tips for brushless capacitor compensated generator
