My unit doesnt pump and the fire will only light
Does the low battery light come on straight away even though it is fully charged? My unit did this and I found the impeller for the pump stuck. Try taking off the filter off the end of the pump get a nail or long screw and spin / free the impeller and try and use the coleman again. If this works I suggest cleaning the unit as per the book with clr etc

Hi l_hayne46 ,
Thank you for your question at Fixya,
The solution to your problem is as follows :-
- In this case you would require to use a packing where the screw is present , a wooden thin stick like a match stick would also work.
- You can put in in the whole and then tighten the screw back and you will find that it works properly.
- However first try to tighten the screw without any packing and then choose whether you require it or not.
Hope that helps ...:) In case you have any queries, feel free to contact me.
Need to no how to attach the water pump to a
Some jerry can threads fit, some dont ! I am about to try using a 500mm x 28mm outside diameter PVC tubing that snugly inserts into the inlet of the pump. The idea is that you just drop in the tubing and it sucks it up out of the jerry can. Or you can use irrigation fittings to make up an adaptor between the jerry can and the pump.
Submersiable pump won't start
First try putting power to the pump plug to confirm that it is/isnt a pump motor failure or otherwise a power supply problem. I used a straightend paper clip to get to the inner contact of the plug. This will just reach the +/- terminals on the 6volt battery.
I have charged my heater,
Hi my name is Todd and I am here to help solve you problem.
I am sorry to tell you the battery in your unit is dead. These batteries are designed to have a shelf life and if not charged properly, will arch and the cells inside the battery will no longer hold a charge. This is a mistake on Coleman's part for not properly instructing on how to store the unit after use. The real instructions should say that the unit should be charged after each use and the battery terminals should be removed from the unit. This allow the charge to be maintained and electrolyte in the battery to stay charged. The good news is you battery can be replaced and purchased for about $38.00. The part number for the battery is 2300-4061. I have provided a link below to a supplier of this model, and a thought might be purchase two units, charge them both and hold one unit as a spare for the unit so you will always have hot water. Just a thought.

Replacing battery - Use only a 6-volt, 4 AmpHr rechargeable lead acid battery. Remove the screw from the cover on the right side of your water heater and remove the cover. Pull the battery out from storage compartment and remove the leads from the battery terminals. Place the connectors on the battery terminals making sure to put the red terminal on the red or "+" battery terminal and the black connector on the black or "-" battery terminal.
I hope this helps and thank you for using Fixya.
Water pump and ignitor do not work
took coleman away for weekend wouldn't work. Very dissapointed, was cold would have loved a hot shower. Had charged battery, when I went to start it. It wouldn't go, light come up as battery low tried it on car charger still no luck. Got home and looked up this site told me to try taking filter off pump and putting a long nail inside to turn pump to make sure it wasn't seized. And guess what every thing works well thank god, water temp was dodgy as well but now all good. Thanks to people that do reply to these sites, it has saved me a lot of money and frustration.

Unfortunately it sounds as if the pump motor has seized. After some time the water left in the motor starts to corrode the parts. The only remedy for this is to replace the entire pump assembly.
I hope this is useful.

Blown fuse on circuit board. Take one side off, find the board. Fuse is water tight sealed. Remove the seal and replace fuse. This seems to be a rather common problem, but coleman doesn't give any help on it. There are only aprox 7 screws that hold the case together. One little one in under the decal on the front just blow the knob. THERE IS NO NEED TO TAKE THE KNOB OFF.
Have three coleman hws same problem on last
It will probably be one of two issues. Either the waterflow sensor is not working correctly or the propane valve connected to to control knob is stuck shut. The water flow sensor is located on the side of the copper element (grey box) check that it spins easily. The propane valve is attached to the control knob by a long metal wire and should turn freely as you turn the control knob to warm
