Hitachi NT65MA2 1 1/4 To 2 1/2 Inch 15 Gauge Angled Finish Nailer Questions & Answers
Driver will not retract after firing
Generally caused by three issues. Bent driver, worn or cracked lower bumper or worn piston ring. Remove nails and tilt nose of gun up then down; the driver should not slide up then down cylinder. If driver appears to be loose in the cylinder, replace piston ring. If driver moves up to top with some resistance and stays, then open gun and check lower bumper for cracks or missing pieces. I have the nt65ma2 it keeps shooting two nails at
Check that the nail is correct for the gun. Fifteen gauge is a very stout/strong nail and measures around .060. Place a strip of nails along the outside of the rails with nails aligned with rails. The first nail should be aligned with path of driver. If the angle is off do not use. Look at the thickness of the driver (and or condition of, no damage ), the nail should look about the same thickness. If nail is thinner than driver, the second nail in line will be in the path of driver. This could cause damage to gun. I believe that the nails slide in from rear.
Sparks when shooting a nail
Hi,
It is common to see sparks. It is metal striking metal. Although, if it sparks alot. It could be a chipped driver blade and the nail would not drive all the way. Does your sink `em?
Hi, I have been stumped! I rebuilt a Hitachi
This is the Cars and Trucks section of Fixya. You might get more answers listing in another area of Fixya which more closely matches your device. All things considered, maybe apply air pressure and stick the unit under water in a utility sink or big wash tub. Air leaks would bubble like a hole in a tire tube.
Hitachi nailer doesn't fire, it has no leaks. When trigger is pulled there is no back pressure from trigger
I've had that happen before and what I found was one of the Staples or nails had misfired and wedged before leaving the gun. read the manual on how to get to it for that particular model and also it might be a good idea to adjust your pressure accordingly to keep it from happening again. If the force isn't set proper then a nail could Jam , block the mouth and not allow any other nails to exit. It's very easy to do and not that hard to fix once you've done it at least once. Good luck.
