Hitachi NR83AA3 3 1/4" Clipped Head Framing Nailer Questions & Answers
I plug the nailer into my airsource and there is
Since I am sure that you are using an air source that you know is working I would suspect a broken o-ring or a jammed mechanism.
A broken o-ring is usually accompanied by a hissing sound as the air escapes pass the seal.
If the mechanism is jammed the unit will act as if it is not connected. Disconnect the air source and check for a jammed nail. Also check to insure something is not preventing the safety mechanism for disengaging when the unit is pressed against a board. If these things out fine the unit may have seized up. For this or the o-ring repair take your unit to a service center (unless you are very handy).
Framing nailers can be very dangerous when they malfunction, so you would want this repair done correctly.

There are two areas around trigger that can leak air. Spray soapy water on trigger stem and/or plunger valve. If leak is at trigger stem check vinyl ball. If leak is at plunger valve, most likely worn or broken oring inside of gun. Remove head and pull outer ring to reveal two orings. A worn outer oring will cause leak at plunger. If orings are ok on outer ring, pull cylinder and check for scratches where orings contact. If scratched, sand with 400 grit paper untill smooth and repack gun with oring kit. Good luck.
Won't feed nail
This happens to my gun too. You probably need to oil the gun once in a while. Here is how you fix it:
Disconnect the gun from the compressor first don't wanna get hurt or anything like that. There is a pin that shoots the nail out well that pin is jammed so what you have to do is push that pin to the original position. using a flat head screwdriver would help you to push that pin back into place. Let me know how that turns out please. I pretty sure that is the problem with your gun. Make sure you lubricate the Nailer once in a while.
Hi, I have been stumped! I rebuilt a Hitachi
This is the Cars and Trucks section of Fixya. You might get more answers listing in another area of Fixya which more closely matches your device. All things considered, maybe apply air pressure and stick the unit under water in a utility sink or big wash tub. Air leaks would bubble like a hole in a tire tube.
Hitachi nailer doesn't fire, it has no leaks. When trigger is pulled there is no back pressure from trigger
I've had that happen before and what I found was one of the Staples or nails had misfired and wedged before leaving the gun. read the manual on how to get to it for that particular model and also it might be a good idea to adjust your pressure accordingly to keep it from happening again. If the force isn't set proper then a nail could Jam , block the mouth and not allow any other nails to exit. It's very easy to do and not that hard to fix once you've done it at least once. Good luck.
