I have a Craftsman 42" rider cuts uneven

Check your tire pressure first, uneven tore pressure will cause this problem. On the rear of cutting deck on both sides there are height adjustments, if your deck has a rear roller this also can be adjusted to compensate,If your a stout person sitting on tractor can cause unevenes.

I have a 1998 Craftsman 19.5 HP opposed twin turbo, and it wont start without taking the right plug out, which releases compression, and then put it back in, and the cylinder will fire and run accordi

check the spark on the L plug. might have a bad coil . I do not think it's an actual turbocharged motor. it might be cooling or transmission " turbo'''' you could also switch plugs from side to side. also, these BS motors had bad cams. so if you remove a valve cover on the L side ad turn the motor over and see a little valve movement. bummer. can be fixed but is spendy and a pain. if you see a turbo on it please add a picture. in this case, I would definitely fix it as it is probably one of a kind. and I'm sure a real treat to cut heavy grass with ! as it would be a 30-40 hp motor . weeee

Engine speed fluctuates

I am hoping that you use only premium fuel (no corn) to keep the carb clean. Also, it helps to pour a half can of anti-fogging agent into the fuel tank to help remove moisture and give an octane boost, plus it will clean carb ports. Any fuel that includes ethanol can kill the engine.

Craftsman 42 in Deck Lawn Tractor jerks/bucks when in forward during turns. Is there an adjustment or do I need a new belt?

Sounds like to me you need a new belt! The belt is automatically tensioned by a spring on most mowers by MTD, the major mfr for most mowers including craftsman.

It sounds as though you are losing power (electrical power); see if charging the battery fully allows it to run longer or if charging the battery helps.

Craftsman lawn mower 917270810 will not start

When the ignition key is turned to the start position you should have a 12 volt supply to the low tention wire at the solinoid, if not you need to check if there is a 12 volt supply to the back of the ignition switch, if not there is a break in the wiring to one of these components, also check that there is a good eart to the chassis from the black battary leed.

Riding lawnmower will not start with key. I tried

Depend on the make and model of the mower....the safety switches usually are the seat, pto, shift lever, brake and clutch. If any of these are bad...the switch won't work. Can you cross the starter and have it start? With these safety switches....you can't just disconnect them to bypass. Most require a loop and running a wire from one side of the switch to the other will usually help you find the one causing the issue.

The solenoid comes in about 4 different models. Some ground to the frame and some don't. Not all key switches are the same either...we stock over 25 different switches and I could show you 7 that look identical but are different.

Personally I would start testing from the starter and work my way back...starter, solenoid, safety switches, starter switch. www.nnyparts.com

Adjust the blade belt

Hi Terry: As good luck would have it, I have one of these mowers. As I see it, there are only two adjustments possible: 1) the for/aft positioning of the mower deck as determined by the length of the central front deck positioning rod. 2) the amount of tension on the spring that holds the engage idler against the belt. That can be changed by moving the bracket that anchors the spring. I've had my unit for several years now and replaced blades, spindles, and pulleys (I mow far too many rocks) but never had to adjust the blade drive belt. Hope this helps
