Troy bilt mower pony
are your blades engaged when you try to do this??
if so it is a back up safety feature from factory, turn blades off and try?
Or put the ignition switch in the position that will keep the mower running when you go in reverse with the blades on or push a button on dash when you go in reverse, probably not on yours just some of the features on some models and just something to look for on yours
Where is the fuse located in Model#917274640
It located inside the operator station. I usually find on the right most times but this can vary.
Most time when an engine won't start it is either the solenoid or a safety that is that problem.
Where is the spark plug and how do I change it?
It will be located on the front of the engine in the head. You will have to remove the spark plug wire first. You will need a spark plug socket to remove it and to replace it with a new one.
21 hp,46" deck---What could be wrong?
A battery can read great, but is truly bad. You need to load test the battery to be sure. I get a new battery at the start of every third year on my lawn tractor whether it needs it or not. Sometimes the new ones are bad too.
How do you set a magnita on a mower
The easiest way is to loosen the coils two bolts, slide it back and place a business card (feeler gauge takes to much time), in between the coil and the flywheel. Turn the flywheel until the magnets pull the coil in against the flywheel. Tighten the flywheel nuts and remove your business card.
Murrays
I need model number off your riding mower to answer that.
HOW TO FIX LAWNMOWER
I will need a few more details about your no start condition. Does the engine just click or does it turn over and just won't start? What are your battery amps? Did you check for spark? Do you have fuel?
What did i break?
will the engine turn over? Are the blades disengaged when you try starting it? If you don't see any broken belts and the blades spin without hitting the sides of the deck or wobbling then there really shouldn't be an issue, the engines are pretty tough and the belt would have slipped enough to prevent any damage to the engine.
Craftsman riding mower will not start
Same thing happened to me with my 26 horse kohler craftsman. Replaced EVERYTHING (spark plug, fuel filter, oil filter, and degunked the carborator), and still was flooding. It ended up being the flywheel key. Cheap part, quick fix. I guess it can happen when you hit something hard with the deck, or it can just happen without reason... I hit a snowbank hard with my snowblower attachment, but I didn't even realize it until afterwards because it kept running fine. Supposedly, even after the strain to the engine, it won't always stall out. It will keep running (but maybe rougher) until you shut it off. Then when you go to start it again, you will have no luck because all the timing is out of whack. It cost me $80 to have a repair company fix it. I think the part was only $5.
