do all of the lines appear on all the extensions? if so, the procedue is fairly complicated, you need to go into the programming on port 05, then go into program 04 and get all of the port numbers for each extension, then in program 81-89 you need to select each when you want the co to ring, in either day 1,2 or 3, and complete for each co line that you want to ring

After you hit the key, hit the 0 (operator) key to change between characters.

What you need to do is set the number of rings before answer on the phone to a number greater than the number of rings it takes before AT&T answers (for example, set AT&T to answer after 4 rings and the phone to answer after 5). Some phones have switches on them that allow you set the number of rings. Some make you set the number through their software. Look on the body of the phone, particularly the sides, for that switch and set it to the biggest number it offers.

I need more information. Your phone can be connected to one of many different Toshiba phone systems and you can also have different voice mail systems. I'm assuming you are talking about voice mail messages.

Can you verify that this is happening only on your phone? If you swap phones with another station does the light start to work? It's rare, but the light itself may be the problem.

Does this same thing happen to anyone else? Is the voice mail not turning on any message waiting lights? or is it working for others?

Not knowing all the details, you could try emptying all messages including saved messages. Then try to leave yourself a test message.

If you know how, you could have your mailbox deleted and re-created. This would need administrative rights to voice mail programming.

Most voice mails have an option to activate the MSG light or not when a new message arrives. Your's could have been turned off by mistake or glitch.

The Toshiba phone you have can work on a few different Toshiba phone systems that program differently. Before I can look up the correct information to help you I will need to know which Toshiba phone system you have. Someone at the office should know but you can also track down the phone system and get a part number or other identifiable markings from it. Older Toshiba systems were typically a light gray color and the more phones you have the bigger it will be. The newer systems are usually dark gray (almost black) there will be a lot of wires going in and out of it and most likely a punch down block or two right next to it (white, about 12" tall, 3" wide, with hundreds of small metal pins to connect wires to.)

The * key is set up to use as a speed dial key. If you program one of the other keys to be the speed dial key then the * should start working for you.

If you have no clue where to start (you don't have the manual) then you need to find out which Toshiba phone system you have (the phone you have will work on different Toshiba systems) and locate the manual for that OR you would have to pay a local phone installer to make the changes for you.

I have a bit of bad news... your hook switch is bad. It's extremely common for this model phone and every single one will eventually have the problem. Unfortunately the problem starts out intermittently hanging up on callers and people do not understand what is happening. They get frustrated and replace their entire system... This is where most of the used phones come from so most used, even most "refurbished" phones of this type have the problem or will within a few months to a year.

Unfortunately the switch continues to go bad even in storage so the phone may have worked to some degree the last time it was used.

For you problem with stored numbers... the DKT2020 does not have any memory at all. All features, settings and information is stored in the main phone system so any stored numbers, names, etc.. are on your phone system for the port you connected the phone to.

It's not as easy on this sytem as many other's. It will depend on your main control unit so you need to know what Toshiba system you have. It may depend on the software version as well. The part number of the phone will not help because it can be used on many different Toshiba phone systems.

I assume it does not ring but just beeps to let you know another line is ringing in case you want to put the current call on hold and answer it. It's called Off-Hook Call Announce, you want to have that option turned off on your extension or possibly the entire system. Do you have someone at your location that makes programming changes to the system or do you pay a company for that?

1) Make your first call. 2) Press the cnf/trn button. 3) Press one of your open line buttons on the right. 4) Dial europe number. 5) Let it ring a couple of times then press the cnf/trn button again. Remember your carrier or your phone system might have international calls blocked.

Your voice mail may have broken. If it's based off a hard drive the hard drive may have died on you. You may need to get a local company to come out and troubleshoot the problem.

Check if any call forwarding or do not disturb settings are activated on the DKT2020 phone . In addition, you can reboot the phone
