ck to see that piviot bearing does not have and dust or junk in it and moves very easy , i use mine for drywall and i have to clean out piviot all the time to get proper level from it

I would check the batterys first and if they are good, generally there is no way for an end user to fix a laser. I have talked to DeWalt in the past about this and been advised not to open it up. you can try to reset the laser and see if it reboots, sometimes they are so far out they won't turn the laser on.

to calibrate you need to have an area 75 to 100 feet in distance. place laser on tripod 20 feet from one end, take measurements on short and long end, then move laser to center of range and take measurements on both ends . the distance between both sets of marks should be within + or - 1/4 inch if not move level screw to move beam to center then center bubble

Double check your using the correct size staples, there are a lot of different sizes and types out there. I've made that mistake. The most common reason is that it has jammed on a staple. remove the staples and the rod that holds them in place. See if the stapler will work when empty.
