When cold compressor starts and fills up with air.

you may have a bad pressure switch:

Unplug the compressor. Drain the tank down to zero. Close the drain. Get down close to the pressure switch and have someone else plug the compressor back in while you are closely monitoring the pressure switch. Do you hear anything happen? Do you see any movement in the pressure switch.
by plugging it in with the tank at zero pressure, you should hear a click as the pressure switch trips due to low pressure. It should trip and send power to the electric motor. If this doesn't happen, you may have a pressure switch problem.

I have the 45175A model

2 things to check, first, empty the air out and try running it, mine will not run or start when 1/2 full, too much back pressure, 2, mine will not run at all when cold, needs to be warmed up, we had a room on the job set up for the compressors to keep warm, I thought it was just mine, it was every-bodies. Check it out, Oh and 3, make sure you have enough power, If I can' t get 16 amps, it won't run, just hums, then kliks off. Don't use a cord if you can help it, if you do, make sure it is heavy wire.

My compressor is not holding any air in the tank,

I would check all threaded fitting and tighten any that are loose. Make sure that tank drain does not have some rust or other debris that would stop it from closing completely. Check for any pinholes or cracks in air hoses.A easy way to find leaks on a air hose is to use large tub or bucket filled with water and run hose thru it and look for bubbles.
Also check o-rings on pressure reulator for any wear, and emergency blow down valve is soequipped.I hope this helps you some. Thank you

My gas powered compressure runs good as far as it

The regulator pressure spring may be broken. Does the regulator knob turn freely both ways, but the gage stays at zero? If so, you need to replace the regulator.
