If you have the 'fluidmaster' then a float rides up and down with water level. There is a metal rod with a metal clip. Squeeze the metal clip and move it downward on the metal rod.
2) If water will not turn off after adjusting flush valve, then replace flush valve.
Local hardware store sells the part and can help with instructions.
You need a crescent wrench or large adjustable pliers.
Plumber can also install the flush valve.

If so, that is called a closet flange. You will need to pick one up at Home Depot or Lowes. There are various kinds. If your floor is a concrete pad then you may have to get one that just slides down inside your waste pipe. It can be glued in. If you are upstairs and have a wooden sub floor you can get one with treated deck screws to screw into the floor.

If you have a digital camera, tale close up pictures of the waste site and take them to the store and show them to someone who works in the department. He will know what you need.

I have never heard of a toilet that needs an electronic reset, but it appears it is as simple as just disconnecting the power for 10 minutes. It does sound though are yours has a failing flush valve. Kohler has good support. You can view the diagrams for that unit with the link I am posting. There are no filters listed in the diagram that might need to be cleaned. There is a chance that the unit has developed a clog from hair etc in the pump impellor. The flange may have come loose and is allowing air in the suction side of the pump too. Rent a multimeter and test your connections. As well as checking the breaker

We had a problem with phantom flushing. Call Kholer. They will send redesigned battery holder and top of flush unit for free. Seems to have fixed the issue.
