How much brown rice to

Add a little more water to brown rice than you would white. Rice cookers do not make a very good job of cooking brown rice and it often sticks to the base. Better to use only white rice in cookers

Hitachi RD6106 10-Cup Rice Cooker

The Hitachi has notches on the inside of the pot. You put your rice in the pot and than start adding water until your water level reaches the notch labeled 7. Remember that the rice has to be inside the pot when you start adding water so that you will have the correct amount of water for the rice you're cooking. It doesn't work the other way around. Rice in pot than add water. But usually the average cup that comes with these rice cookers only holds 3/4 of a cup when you fill them to the top.

Hitachi automatic home bakery hb-c202 i was just given one and i need a manuel and recipe

First, I'm not a Hitachi representative. * Amazon has the manual ($12.99) but check if it's your model; https://www.amazon.com/Hitachi-Automatic-Bakery-Model-HB-B102/dp/B00IR2SYV0 * Here is another that you can read on line. (but there may be a fee to download) ; https://www.scribd.com/doc/20815448/18122724-Hitachi-Home-Bakery-Model-HBD102-Instruction-Manual-Recipes-HBD102-1 * You may find all you need by looking for "Hitachi Bread recipes"; https://www.thriftyfun.com/tf12469019.tip.html * Most recipes will show you what buttons to push and settings to use. Just look up the bread/cake type and add "Hitachi" in the query. Aloha, ukeboy57 P.S. I've had fun with two different bread machines (USA and Japanese) both worked somewhat. You need to really measure out but more important is which order the mix goes in. Some like the liquids on the bottom. Others like it on top. I've found the Japanese machines like liquids on the bottom. BUT you really need to watch the dough ball form. (It gets messy here) Open the lid and watch the ball form in the early part of the mix. Add more flour to get a really nice sticky ball rolling around. This should happen within the first two mins. Sticky is okay. If you find it's dry and just spinning in the middle without touching the sides or corners then there will be dry dough at the end of the cook cycle. Okay but not nice looking. Some vids to get you started; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKf1U0lSST8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-pfJeofqy0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2K-Jam6jr0 * Oh, Just in case you have a "Japanese" button menu. The buttons can be figured out by comparing to other machines of similar size. (Or ask a Japanese speaking friend to translate); https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WmMjp_TYcQ

Where can I get a free instruction manual?

Hi Sharon. You don't mention your model number. The manual for their Fuzzy Logic RZ-XMC10Y can be viewed here: Hitachi RZ XMC10Y Instruction Manual I also found a manual for the RZBM18Y on a Hitachi Australia Site: http://www.hitachi.com.au/documents/product/RZBM18Y_manual.pdf The US site really seems to have bupkus on anything like rice cookers - just electronics and power tools. Hoping that one of those might help, and Happy Holidays! D
