How to remove the handle on a Kohler 12176?
To remove the handle on a Kohler 12176, follow these steps:
- Turn off the water supply to the faucet.
- Look for a screw or set screw on the handle that is holding it in place.
- If there is a screw, use a screwdriver to loosen and remove it.

How to remove the handle from a kohler faucet?
Once you have removed the screw from the handle, you may be able to gently pull the handle away from the valve. Some handles may have a small set screw on the side that needs to be loosened first. If the handle does not easily come off, gently tap it with a soft rubber mallet or use a handle puller tool to carefully remove it. If the handle is still stuck, consult the manufacturer's instructions or a plumber for further assistance.

We need an expanded view
Go to kohler web site and request a parts break down of that model they should be able to e-mail you a diagram and provide parts needed at little or no cost if you are firm about not using their product again because of bad experience with this faucet.

Hi just moved in new home love it but the water
One thing you could try is to remove the aerator at the end of the spout on the faucet, Turn water on and see if pressure is any better. If so the aerator is got something in it restricting the flow.
You also can remove the dime shaped flat in the aerator to increase water flow. It looks like a dime with a hole about 1/8" in center to restrict the flow to about 1.6 gpm. Remove it and reinstall aerator and check water flow
Most of the times when cold and hot side of faucet. It would be the first thin to check being you have good water pressure at other faucets. They catch debris and the flow slows down from the faucet's. Check out supply lines and faucet for a blockage if this doesn't take care of the problem.
Check out this web sire for a parts breakdown of parts in faucet. Check out installation and rough in sheet for information on faucet below.

My faucet is barely letting water out
If you have checked the head then that is ruled out. I assume that all the other faucets in the house are okay. The problem is in the small passageways inside the faucet, if both the hot and cold are slow then it is probably in the one going to the spout. If you remove the heandle you can often pull the spout up and over the guts of the faucet. Check for an obstruction in the hole going to the spout. Also blow out the spout to make sure that it is free of debris.
Very small amounts of debris can make a faucet very slow.

Faucet is leaking up from the sleeve. I remove the
If it's the handle and u can't get it off b/c of sediment then pour hot water on the handle and gently pry off. If that doesn't work then get a handle puller from a plumbing supply store

Faucet installed 9/94 and still looks like new.
Try tighten the hoses, if this don't work the seal in hose connectors may need replaced, very simple and cheap to replace. over time the hot water will wear down the seal it will go bad with pressure and water period. It's a good thing to change these all while you are there.

My Kohler Fairfax faucet pressure /flow has dropped (cold)
Verify the cold water outlet has equal pressure as the hot side outlet at the wall. Check the inlet screen on the cold side water line where it attatches to cold water pipe. The screen could be plugged. Then check the cold side hose for any restrictions. Also check if there is a screen on the outlet side of the cold water hose and see if it is plugged. Otherwise the faucet valve is mis-aligned and will need to be rotated and re-tightened to align the valve to the center so both sides have equal water flow.
