Brand new kohler cruette. attached cold and hot water fine. when snapping in the pull out faucet hose it sprays all over under the sink

Hi rysenga, the problem is an omission of directions. The section 9 directions are the worst offender and left me never again to purchase a Kohler product. First, this connection for the pull out hose to the outlet fitting should have been a screw on connection. Should have been. Ok it was not, I'll get over it. But the directions never mention having to install the white plastic bushing. Not at all. Nor does it mention that the bushing should be put on the outlet first and then push the hose connection in. This omission is a huge one, but should help anyone else reading this complete the install. Find the oval lip white bushing and install this first on the body, and then just push the connector in. Done.

Leaking diverter valve

is it a kitchen faucet or a tub faucet? if it a kitchen faucet it will be a cartridge issue, if it is a tub faucet it could be as easy as a o-ring or a separate cartridge. in any case the cartridges are usually in the main part of the handle and you usually have to take apart the faucet. i know this may sound funny but make sure you turn off the water to the faucet, you would be surprised how many people try to fix this with water on.

Whirlpool stopper

If there is a small loop on the bottom of the stopper, the popup lever is supposed to poke through that. All you need to do is look at the drain tailpiece for the lever sticking out the back, undo the retaining nut to allow the lever to be removed from the drain, drop the stopper down so the loop can be engaged by the actuator rod you just pulled out, retighten the nut, then make the final adjustments for open height with the small metal tab holds the lever to the piece of metal with holes in it that is attached to the drain poppet in the middle of the faucet assembly above It should close completely and then open to drain.

Faucet leaks

Depending on what exactly is leaking, you have a couple options. Many new faucets have a replaceable cartridge, which can often be picked up at a Home Depot or Lowes type of store. If not you may need to replace the faucet as an assembly.

I have a K10430-cp. Intermittantly the water flow

Hi,
This seems to be a problem with the diverter valve...that is the internal valve that diverts water to the spray head,,,,
When the water shuts down, try the spray head and see if you still have water there...if so then the diverter is probably the problem...
If you have water no where then it is probably dirt floating around and clogging up the main valve...take the hose off of the hot and cold and then blow air backwards through the spout with the valve open...this should clean out any dirt in the valve...

Customer installed a kohler tub/shower

If it leaks out of the shower head and not the faucet tap, then I would look into the scald guard setting or the selector lever or even for a small scratch around the cartridge.

Dripping bath faucet circa 1985.

  • 1 Close the hot and cold water valves in the cabinet beneath the sink to shut the water supply off to the bath faucet.
  • 2 Remove the bath faucet's handle to access the valve cartridge. The faucet handle is removed by first detaching the handle's insert cap using the tip of a screwdriver or utility knife to expose the handle screw. Remove the handle screw with a Phillips screwdriver, then pull the handle off the valve cartridge stem.
  • 3 Loosen and remove the cartridge valve nut with an adjustable wrench. Some faucet models retain the valve cartridge with a snap ring and are removed with snap ring pliers.
  • 4 Pull the old valve cartridge out of the bath faucet base, using pliers.
  • 5 Insert the new replacement valve cartridge into the faucet housing and replace the nut or snap ring removed in Step 3, using an adjustable wrench or snap ring pliers.
  • 6 Reinstall the faucet's handle onto the valve cartridge post, then secure the handle's screw, using a screwdriver.
  • 7 Replace the insert cap into the handle to cover the handle's screw hole.
  • 8 Turn on the hot and cold water valves beneath the sink to restore the water supply.

    I have a Kohler kitchen

yes, remove the nut and lift the faucet up and out, you will see a rubber washer/o-ring that is like chewed up, at any home improvement center, hardware store or even a discount in there plumbing section they have faucet repair kits. Either take the old piece or the faucet and match it up, then reinstall and it will all be good. Good Luck Tim
