Kohler K-10270-4-BV Forte Two Handle Centerset Lavatory Faucet with Sculpte... - Page 5 Questions & Answers
Customer installed a kohler tub/shower
If it leaks out of the shower head and not the faucet tap, then I would look into the scald guard setting or the selector lever or even for a small scratch around the cartridge.
Dripping bath faucet circa 1985.
1
Close the hot and cold water valves in the cabinet beneath the sink to shut the water supply off to the bath faucet.
2
Remove the bath faucet's handle to access the valve cartridge. The faucet handle is removed by first detaching the handle's insert cap using the tip of a screwdriver or utility knife to expose the handle screw. Remove the handle screw with a Phillips screwdriver, then pull the handle off the valve cartridge stem.
3
Loosen and remove the cartridge valve nut with an adjustable wrench. Some faucet models retain the valve cartridge with a snap ring and are removed with snap ring pliers.
4
Pull the old valve cartridge out of the bath faucet base, using pliers.
5
Insert the new replacement valve cartridge into the faucet housing and replace the nut or snap ring removed in Step 3, using an adjustable wrench or snap ring pliers.
6
Reinstall the faucet's handle onto the valve cartridge post, then secure the handle's screw, using a screwdriver.
7
Replace the insert cap into the handle to cover the handle's screw hole.
8
Turn on the hot and cold water valves beneath the sink to restore the water supply.

Turn water off to faucet and remove internal parts take small brushes (found some at harbor freight)clean all inlet ports replace parts(I recommend new kit including springs and washers)also be sure to change aerator that may be your main problem(you might try that first).

I have a Kohler kitchen
yes, remove the nut and lift the faucet up and out, you will see a rubber washer/o-ring that is like chewed up, at any home improvement center, hardware store or even a discount in there plumbing section they have faucet repair kits. Either take the old piece or the faucet and match it up, then reinstall and it will all be good. Good Luck Tim

When installing a strainer does the rubber washer
Yes. The cardboard washer is the last thing before the nut and the rubber goes next to the sink bottom. The cardboard washer is to keep the nut from grabbing the rubber washer so it stays flat.
Also over time the rubber will stick to the nut and if you ever need to take it apart it keeps that from happening.
I have the Kohler Forte
Clean the aerator and I think that will do it.
The aerator is at the end of the spout where the water comes out it just screws off.
How do you feed the
I'm assuming that you are talking about a faucet with a pull out spout.
Can you feed it up from underneath?
Other suggestions:
Call the manufacturer's help line.
Google on "install 'faucet manufacturer name and model'"
I have an old Kohler
Hi,
There should be a nut there that holds everything together...remove the nut and the guts will come up and out...
I usually use a pump pliers and a rag...to make sure I don't mess things up...
If the shroud of the handle totally covers the nuts then don't worry about the rag...
