Our Moen Kitchen faucet lever does not stay up

That's easy! My husband is a plumber. he says u have to take the lever off. Point the tip of the lever down and put back on. There's a little ledge of plastic that u have to get the metal handle on. It's difficult to explain!

I have a MOEN 4600.

From Moen's trouble shooting discussion:

Typical Cause

Debris or an obstruction in the balancing spool is causing it not to move freely within its housing. In some models, a lack of pressure feeding the hot and cold will be the cause. The valve also may need to be calibrated.

Solution

First, verify the hot water system in the home is operational. Second, it is essential to identify the model of your faucet. Please view our Find Your Product section to determine your model. For Posi-Temp models: The 1222 cartridge would need to be replaced and the valve body would need to be flushed and cleaned. For Moentrol models: Inspect the 1423 balancing spool. This will appear on the front of the valve body, either to the right or above the cartridge. It will look similar to a large flat head screw, and it will be brass in color. A large flat-bladed screwdriver can be used to unscrew the balancing spool from the valve. There will be a spool inside this piece, and it needs to move freely inside of its shell. If the spool does not move freely, then the 1423 balancing spool will need to be replaced. For ¾" ExactTemp models: Note: For ½" ExactTemp valves refer to original service manual
  1. Verify the shut off valves (check stop kit) are in the open position. This will be a screw in the center of the check stop kit. These should be unscrewed counter-clockwise.
  2. Check to see if the hot and cold lines are reversed. If the supply lines are accessible, feel the temperature of the pipes. The cold supply must be connected to the cold (right) side of the valve, and the hot supply must be connected to the hot (left) side of the valve. If this is the case, the valve will need to be reinstalled. Note: The cartridge cannot be reversed to correct this issue.
  3. The cartridge would need to be calibrated. Instructions on calibration can be obtained via the ExactTemp Service Manual in our Literature Center.
Note: When calibrated properly, the ExactTemp valve should provide a range of temperature of 80 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. For ioDigital models:
  1. Verify the shut off valves are in the open position. These will vary depending on your ioDigital model.
  2. Remove the valve inlet screens and inspect for any debris. The water supply will need to be shut off, and then the black nut on the inlets can be unscrewed to remove the inlet screens. Rinse off any debris that may be on these screens and reinstall.
For standard valve models:
  1. Check to see if there are shut off valves installed with the unit. Verify these valves are opened all the way.
  2. The cartridge (for one-handle faucets) or cartridges (for two-handle faucets) would need to be removed (or replaced) and the valve body would need to be flushed and cleaned.

The handle seems somewhat not fully attached, you

Hi, my expertise is in plumbing, so excuse the grammer/spelling /punctuation.
The anerw too your problem lies in a rental store, you need a winch too pull the whole sink out of the counter and dicard!! Not really,, just a joke. On Moen faucets,, high end most have a set screw in the handel itself,, the older ones had a small plastic red and blue round plug right on the base of the handel itself identifying the hot/left and cold/right while hiding access and sealing from dirt and **** the set screw, yours my be brushed satin, pry this plug with a small screw driver "pocket type" being careful not to mare the finish, though this is not always easy or possible depending on the years it has been there, it will come out and give you acess to the screw, most likely an allen wrench. spray a bit of WD-40 into the hole and let it sit about 1/2 an hour then in a first counter clock fashion turn the set screw a couple of turns this will lossen it and the clockwise tighten it down,,,That should, "FIX YA!!

Trying to change cartridge on Moen single lever

Moen has a diverter built in that will need to be replaced.

use the same steps as when you replaced the cartridge, but this time you will need to remove the spout, there is a small diverter, you will see it when spout is removed.

take this part with you to the hardware store, along with the O Rings from the spout, as they will need to be replaced also

use a non silicone faucet lubricant when putting back together

Single handle Spray faucet leaks at it's base,

If you still have the receipts from the purchase call Moen directly as they warranty their faucets for life and will send you the replacement parts you need. If you need to purchase replacement parts then you can purchase a Moen single lever repair kit from your local hardware store which should run you around $10. Go the the Moen website and look for your model. They generally have an exploded view of every one of their models that will assist you in dissassembling the tap without any surprises. Reassemble the tap with the new o-rings etc installed and test.

How do i replace gasket on moen facuet in bathroom

On a Moen Faucet the set screw is behind the little "blue and red plastic tab", remove this tab very carefully with a small flat screwdriver. Then you should be able to see the set screw. make sure to turn of the water supply under the sink first. The set screw will probably be an "allen head" type and you will need an allen head wrench. This is a hex shaped 6-sided tool in a rod shape and is available at your local hardware in a set. Next you will need the model # of your faucet and take this to your local hardware to match with a repare kit. Moen usually has a lifetime warranty and if you have your paperwork just call Moen directly and they will send you a free replacement kit, free shipping too. The kit has installation instructions with it.

Unscrew end of faucet where water comes out. It is probably plugged. They put extra screens in it, so remove some of them, turn on before replacing and let water run to get out remainder of sediment.
