Hitachi RAS09UH randomly pops 15A circuit breaker
Two things that you could check: 1) If you have access to an ampmeter, determine if the unit is drawing over over 14 or 15 amps, 2) replace the suspect circuit breaker in case it is beginning to go bad. Breakers only trip for overcurrent conditions or failure of the breaker itself. If it is pulling close to 15 amps, then it could heat up over time and trip.
Odour from ac
There is a problem with heat pumps known as "Dirty Sock Snydrome". Research this on the web as this may be your situation. It is a smell produced by micro bacterial growth on indoor coil. Contact a local HVAC company for solutions if you determine this is the cause of odor.
Faulty air con or does it need to be regased
Before you disconnected you should have pumped the system down, keeping all of the gas in to the outdoor unit. when you reinstalled you needed to vac the pipework then open the outdoor unit valves to let the refrigerant through. if you had disconnected the pipework without doing this you would have lost the gas, so yes a recharge will be required. hope this helps.
Hitachi RAS-25CHA will not work after power supply -brown outage.
Heya,
I am an ex warrenty agent for Hitachi in Western Australia and I will be able to take you through some tests if you want. But from the sounds of it I think that you will be up for a new indoor PCB as these are the most common things to go when there are power failures. If you would like me to go through it with you let me know. But first where abouts are you in Australia?
