My printer skips lines when it is printing. I've
For
this operation, first get the cartridges into the center and pull the
plug on the printer so it won't try to put them away while you are
working on them. I haven't tried this scheme on a printer yet, but it's
worked in other tight spaces: dampen a paper towel with isopropyl
alcohol (rubbing alcohol). Wrap it once around the end of a strip of
poster board the width of the cartridge and long enough for convenient
handling, and hold it with just enough tension the paper towel to keep
it in place. Slide this under the ink heads and gently wipe them with
the paper towel. Flip the cleaning tool over and repeat with this side.
Replace the strip of paper towel and repeat as necessary. And while you
are at it, gently wipe out the head parking zone so it doesn't
re-contaminate the heads.
Of course, it is possible you really
are out of ink - sometimes ink feed to the heads gets erratic when the
level is very low.

Have Epson DX8400. Have tried
The cartridges are chipped, you have to use all genuine epson or an equivalent with the correct chips. Not all replacement carts are correctly chipped.
If you do have genuine cartridges fitted remove them all and clean the gold chip part with a soft tissue and firmly seat the carts. Hope that helps.

My Epson SX415 will no longer recognise non-Epson
If the printer is telling you to do this then you may be out of luck... but if the message is cropping up on the computer you can disable the nag screen using this approach:
- Go to Printers and Faxes (or the equivalent screen that lists all your printers)
- Right click your SX415 printer and choose "Printing Preferences"
- Click on the "Maintenance" tab
- Click on the "Speed & Progress" button
- Tick the "Disable EPSON Status Monitor" checkbox
- Click on OK
- Click on OK to close the Preferences window
That should about do it...
This stops the nagging at least but I can't guarantee that it will force the printer to continue...
Hope it helps.

I have a Printer NX410 Printer that is out of
Spoke to Epson, said to slightly push down ink drum and push a little to the left if it is already to the right. Was given a local number where I could take it for repair, but just to look at it would be $30 which could be applied to final cost. Labor was to be at least $90. Why bother? You can get a new one cheaper. goto
epson.com/loyalty and you will get a discount on a new purchase.
Gentleman I spoke to, was so nice and wonderful to chat with. Today I am going to try to fix it myself. If I break something so what, my new one will arrive in two days.

The black ink will npt come through
Hi,
If you have just installed a new ink cartridge and an
ink low or
Replace ink cartridge message is still displayed, the cartridge may be incorrectly installed.
Follow these steps to make sure the cartridges are correctly installed:
- Press the On button to turn on the Epson Stylus, or (if already on) press the Setup button.
- Select Maintenance and press OK.
- Select Change Ink Cartridge and press OK.
- Open the scanner.
- Open the cartridge cover.
- Press down all the ink cartridges until they click into place to make sure they are properly seated.
- Close the ink cartridge cover and push it down until it clicks into place.
- Close the scanner.
- Press OK to begin charging the ink. This takes about 2 minutes.
You see a message on the display screen when ink charging is finished.
Caution:
Never turn off the Epson Stylus while ink is charging or you'll waste ink.
If
you remove an ink cartridge for later use, protect the ink supply area
from dirt and dust and store it in the same environment as the Epson
Stylus with the label facing upward. Note that there is a valve in the
ink supply port, making covers or plugs unnecessary, but care is needed
to prevent the ink from staining items that the cartridge touches. Do
not touch the ink cartridge ink supply port or surrounding area, and do
not store the cartridge upside down.
If you remove a low or expended ink cartridge, you cannot reinstall and use the cartridge.
Thank you for contacting FixYa

Black line down the middle of the page when
You did not say what kind of printer. Laser printers-- Look at the innards (Toner, image drum, fuser, etc) for something in the same location on the various parts. This is kind of general, but the cause is often obvious. Printers can also have this problem if memory locations have failed, or, in the case of some laser printers, the laser unit is malfunctioning.
Ink Jet printers. Usually caused by something in the paper path after the print head, or the print head. Cleaning the surface of the print head with a lint free damp towel may cure the problem. Duplex printers can get crud in the duplex assembly that will cause this symptom.
In other words, it's most likely a hardware related problem, not software

If ink level reach ink out level, follow How to.. on Epson status monitor. But, if it's not, turn off printer. Unlock carriage lock, then move carriage by hand. Or you can turn on printer and unplug power while carriage moving. Then move by hand freely.
You should be able to follow the bottom link and find it or you can check this answer .
