RCA L32HD32D no picture

Most likely you have a bad back lamp. Most times when this occurs, the screen will come on for a second or two then go off. Replacing a back lamp isn't a job for do it your selfers. It will involve completely disassembly of the LCD panel.

My rca lcd tv dvd combo power light came on but im getting no picture or sound

I see so many here with no sound/nopicture issues:ISSUES: 1. IF sound main fuse/s are good.2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signsof damage you can see---burnt parts etc.3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down theproblem.4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set.Answers to issues:1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the genericones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don'tput a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason.2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses astandby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined andsome not. Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on thepower/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--Iattach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flatand have no brown material coming out on top or bottom. What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating(saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail.3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have to buyand try a board to see if it fixes it or not.4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over.If set is opened at least look for puffed up and bad caps like in thisphoto.5_15_2012_1_22_51_pm.jpg

I have a problem turning on my set.

This sounds like a very common issue. If set is hard to turn on (takes several tries)but will eventually turn on hereis what my guess would be.Every set has a standby power supplythat is running 7/24 if the set is plugged in and it supplies voltage to theremote circuit that turn on the main power supply for the tv and hence turn theset on.This is an area where companies cut corners by using lower rated voltage caps.By this I mean Standby usually provides under 10 volts to trigger the seton----what they do is use filter caps rated at say 10 volts max in a circuitwith 9 volts (example)=with the standby on all the time the filter caps(electrolytic caps) dry out and fail. The problem usually begins where you have to turn set on or or two times andgradually gets worse--takes longer and more tries to get it to come up.Once on it will stay on until turned off for a period of time. The caps will begin to work better (regain some of thecapacitance) as they get hot--hence one it is on it will seem ok.The beauty of this problem is most of themhappen when set is a year or two old (no warranty) and all you have to do islook at the top to locate bad ones. They are generally black or blue and round and vary in --they have twoconnections each--a + for positive and a - for negative--not unlike a batterywhich in a way they are. The + and - are marked on top and bottom of most boards. They are easy to replace and not expensive parts. The tops are silverand metal looking with creases on top and if bad they will be puffed up ontop---tops must be perfectly flat with no brown material leaking top or bottom. If this is your problem once you id them (make a drawing) you can begin. Here is the critical part---on each cap is also marked the value like 220uf 10vdc---220 micro farad at 10 volts maximum. If you find for example 6 puffed up and all are 10 vdc replace them with thesame value capacitance (like the 220 uf) but go up to at least in this case(from 10 volts) to a 16 or higher rated voltage cap.The only issue is when you go up in voltage rated value the cap is larger sosometimes there is an issue of physical space for the replacement on the boardto fit them in.The reason they cheapen these sets in this way is if 10 caps and you make25,000 sets there is a considerable savings in parts cost. They do not care as long as it lasts past the usual one year parts warranty.I have taken the time to be long winded because this really sounds like it maybe the problem you have.See attached photo of a typical cap and if you have questions or need advicelet me know.6_17_2012_5_24_02_pm.jpg6_17_2012_5_24_22_pm.jpg

The disc in our tv (RCA L26HD35D) will not eject.

The best way to get you dvd out of the side slot without scratching it is to set the t.v. on a soft surface screen side down. (Carpet works great) Then remove all the screws from the back of the t.v. including the mount stand and take off the 2 panels on the back of the t.v.. One will be in the middle use a flat head screwdriver and lift upwards on the side nearest to the screw, the other on will be in the top left corner do the same here. Then you will want to unhook the wires from the motherboard (they will be bundled) do this by pulling gently on the connecter head (do this as evenly as possible to avoid damaging the pins) remove both connector heads then take the whole back of the t.v. off. After all that you can easily use the white plastic manual dvd release lever. I hope that helps some of you that got this poorly built product. If RCA was thinking about the customer when building this product they would have made a panel right over the dvd player and that would have saved a lot of hassel of course doing what I've suggested will most likely void your warranty and then they wouldn't get to make as much money off you. By the way their customer service is out of Japan and good luck getting anywhere with that.

The only thing you can do is try one more board. May be there was some manufacturing defect in the board you have purchased. May the next one will work for a long time.

No picture have volume

I had a similar problem with my 42 in Philips LCD HDTV.

Here was the problem. My Power Supply Board had several bad capacitors. I opened my TV (warranty was expired of course) and found four bulged capacitors on the PSB. Many major electronics companies Philips/Magnavox, Sony, Panasonic, and others were sold capacitors that failed in 2-5 years instead of 10-20. The capacitors fail prematurely due to a lack of preservatives. Unfortunately, they were installed in all sorts of devices and cause a wide range of failure problems.

Here are some options for you.

1. Have it fixed by a professional $$$$$$$??????? (Is it under warranty?)

Remember, TVs CONTAIN HIGH VOLTAGE AND CAN KILL YOU! Do this at your own risk.

2. Open your TV and find PSB. (The board that the power cord plugs into) Check for faulty caps. If you find some (bulged or leaking) bad caps replace the entire board. The entire board costs around $250 right now because they are in high demand right now. They can be found online. I would definitely shop around though.

3. Remove and then replace individual faulty caps. This takes some soldering skill.

Caps are inexpensive and if you can take care of it yourself it will save you hundreds.

This may be your problem. If you determine that it might be.

I have a Tip/How TO tutorial on this site that may also help. It gives step by step instructions for replacing caps on PSB #715t2432-2. If this is your board you are in luck. Here is the Link: Fixing the Philips Turns/shuts off on its own problem. I'm working on uploading pictures to help guide people though the process as well. Let me know if I can do anything to help.

Hope this helps and if it does please rate it accordingly. Good luck.

I turn on my tv

Hi:
Your problem is the power going to the inverter board and or a faulty Inverter board.
The Inverter board is what's responsible for lighting the back lights.Check all capacitors on the power supply for puffy tops, especially the one for the Inverter supply. The most common voltage to the converter ranges from 12 volts to 35 volts depending on screen size. A faulty inverter board failes when it draws to much current and shuts down the lamps. I am assuming you power supply is good as far as turning on the set and you have sound. but a low supply to the inverter will cause it not to function.

No audio

No audio on all modes?

Let verify first to narrow down to where the problem can be. First, make sure the MUTE or SAP function is not activated, then check the on screen sound set up menu to make sure the speakers are not set to OFF. If the setting is OK, then attach the powered PC speakers to the Audio Line out RCA jacks (Red and White) to see if you can get the sound there, if you do, then the problem can be in the power amp circuits, if you do not get the sound at RCA jacks, then the problem can be in the sound processor circuit and it will be real expensive, actually will be real expensive to have it repair and you can expect $150 or more plus parts.

L-32hd32d tv 18 months old now picture blacks out

Normally I would suggest adjusting the settings on the connected devices but in this case you have already tried two different devices on two different inputs (If these have been connected to the same input then I would still suggest adjusting the settings on the connected devices i.e. setting the resolution to 720p and disabling any automatic resolution detection). If you have tried two different inputs the television might be at fault. The inverters might be loose.
If this is the case RCA might foot the bill or at least buy the parts.
Try a component cable instead of hdmi if you are able if you haven't already tried this.
