I purchased this TV on January 5th and it worked great at first. A couple of
weeks went by and one morning I noticed that some of the screen that should be
showing up black in color was a bright red( all other areas of the screen were
normal). I turned off the TV and the next time I turned it on the red had gone
back to black and everything was fine.
It continued to work perfectly
for awhile after that, but then the problem showed up again. Again turning it
off for a while, then turning it back on had fixed it for a bit. It then began
happening more and more frequently, at which point I called in to tech support.
I was told to do several things including resetting the picture mode through the
menu, and unplugging the set and holding the power button down for 25 sec.
None of these suggestions have worked, and now the problem is happening
100% of the time, even after turning it off. The problem occurs on every input
of the TV (cable, dvd, hdmi, ect...) I am becoming very frustrated with this, I
purchased the TV only a month and a half ago and already there are major issues
with it.
this is a LVDS cable issue. All you have to do is call Vizio and they will send out a tech and replace the LVDS cable along with the Main Board. This should resolve the pixilation issue.

Neither ATT or Vizio can find a code to set up my universal remote that came with our vizio hd tv. Canyou please help us. Thankyou.
Hi,
Maybe too late for you but ATT just gave me a code that works with my Vizio plasma. Code is 1343. Even the mute works correctly. They gave me some others to try but I didn't need them. Other codes were 1018, 0030 and 0056.

I just bought a new VIZIO 47 inch TV from costco. The remote was working initially, but stopped working except for the volume. I just got the remote replaced, and now it doesn't work at all. any suggestions for help? My remote control was working fine yesterday, and today it's not working except for the volume. The tv is working fine, but turning it on, or switching components or the menu only work on the buttons beside the tv. Would a new remote help, or is it a tv problem? And would a Universal remote do anything? Thanks.
Wow, I feel stupid! Solution #2 did it! There are 2 Tv buttons, one on the top right and one on bottom right. You have to press the bottom one!! THANK YOU PPL!!!

My remote for my 47" vizio LCD tv only works the volume and nothing else. I have been searching the web for a solution but cant seem to find one. Any suggestions within reason would be appreciated. B
Press the TV button on the lower right (not the upper right) to tell the remote to control the TV.
The upper buttons are the Input Selector buttons. The lower buttons are the Device Control Selector buttons.
I had this same problem until this dawned on me.

picture lost sound lost as if tv was shut off but power light stayed on. cannot shut off tv without unplugging at power source. vizio 47" lcd
this could be one of two problem. first, check if you have back light. If you do then the problem is with the M/B. Second, if you don't have back light then the inverter is bad and needs to be replace.

Vizio GV47L, How to replace fuses on motherboard? I have the fuses located, but never swapped these type of fuses before. Thanks
Fixed my 47" GV47L for $7.18... Did the F3 Fuse bypass solution, and it worked like a champ!!! No problems since! The part that took the longest was the drive to Radio Shack!!!

We have a Vizio model # GV47LFHDTV10A. When we went to bed last night the tv was working fine. We tried to turn it on this morning and nothing. There is some power. The Vizio logo lights up and so does the control strip on the front of the unit lights up as well. But there is no picture or sound. There is just a black screen. Not a blue screen like when you didn't turn on the satellite. Also, you have to unplug the tv to turn it off. It will not turn off by touching the power on the unit or with the remote control.
For the cheap guy like me who will probably do more harm than good:
Also check for the F3 Fuse on that same main input board. It is located in the upper right corner. Hard wired fuses; very small. You will see F1-F4 (F4 is empty). You can solder a replacement fuse right over it. I would recommend piggybacking the fuse with a fuse you can replace. Will need the holder and a new fuse. 6 bucks.
Doesn't solve problem, but I can go another 2 1/2 years and the wife won't blame me for screwing up the TV in the first place.

need the code for the charter remote for my vizio
For example, to search for a code for your TV:
NOTE: In the searchmode, the remote control sends IR codes fromits library to the selected device, starting with the most popular code first.
NOTE: If the TV does not turn on during step 6, then slowly press and release CH- to go back through the codes, then press SET UP when the TV turns on.
