Compaq evo 610 asks for product key on start up
The product key for the Windows installation is printed on the label on the bottom of the Compaq. The product key will only work on the version of Windows that is printed on the label otherwise you will get an incorrect Product key error message.
Make sure the Windows installation CD matches the Windows version that is printed on the label on the bottom of the Compaq.
Cant install the ethernet of compaq n610c
If the laptop is newer than 2001, it won't have a ROMPAQ on the hard drive. That was compaq's system BIOS that had to be installed on the hard drive.
If you go into the system BIOS, make sure that the ethernet is enabled.
If it is, then load into Windows and check the device manager to make sure it is there. If it isn't, a simple fix is to do a system restore to the date it worked.
In windows XP, it's c:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe
In windows vista, it's c:\windows\system32\rstrui.exe

Hi
can you plug in an external keyboard via PS2/usb port? try this and see if it works, If so you could try taking your internal keyboard apart and cleaning the key contacts, usually a bit tricky/fiddely but would save you the cost of a new keyboard, disassembly instructions for your keyboard should be found on the 'net or a new replacement keyboard, Hope this helps.
Out of frequency range set lower resolution
reboot the system by pressing F8 if your using windows OS and select last good configuration.
you can try also selecting Enable VGA mode (press F8 while rebooting and select ENABLE VGA mode).
hope this helps, please rate.
