Aspire Acer 7520-5324 Laptop Questions & Answers
The aspire one boots in but thee is no display - no graphics etc
Do you want to change the BIOS settings to the default/factory setting?
OR
Do you want a fresh clean Windows setup?
This means you need your Restore CD or a Windows CD.
Also you need the drivers for all the devices that are installed on the laptop (you may need to download them from the ACER WEB site) plus install all your other programs such as MS Office etc.
I suggest you back up your data before you reinstall Windows because most likely your data will be wiped.
To start this process you need to bootup the laptop with the Windows or Restore CD and follow the screen instructions.
How to install more memory
you have to shud down your computer and remove your battery
back of your laptop there is ram place u have to open and put it there
Speaker does not work
if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
you might have to uninstall then restart your computer then reinstall both the sound drivers and the sound card make sure you have both of these devices backed up to a disc before uninstalling
a yellow? question mark means you need to install/update driver to do this
right click to install driver also
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound,video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers
click start control panel sounds and audio,volume,advanced,speakers make sure you have selected the
(((appropriate speakers))) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there
also
click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar
if his does not fix the problem
have you tried this control panel sounds and audio,volume,advanced,speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand,system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable)
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer

I put cd but speaker does not work
Check your Sound data cable please, it should be plugged on both sides Aux in and with the CD-Rom.

You will want to first verify that the laptop is receiving power. Try starting up the machine with a friend's power supply that is rated for your computer.
Power supplies in laptops tend to have a useful life of about two years.
Bios password
You will need the BIOS password to enter the BIOS setup.
To do a hardware reset remove the CMOS batteries for 30 minutes.
Once your BIOS password is removed, you will need to press the
<F2> key during POST (Power On Self Test) to enter the Acer BIOS
setup.
After you
enter BIOS, go to the Boot tab and down to "Security" and make your
changes there.

When I start my Acer
This is due to a improper downgrade from windows vista,, The first thing you should do is unplug the power cord,remove the battery and hold down the power button for 30 seconds to discharge the board....Then reinstall the battery and the power cord, make sure the xp disk is in the drive and start the computer,you should get a message that say "To boot from cd press any key" at this point press any key and continue setup, when you get to the section that states the partitions,just follow the instruction on deleting the listed partitions until you have only one that says "UNPARTITIONED" click install to this location and windows will format in ntfs and install.

From the statement I understand that the error code you are getting relates to a bad boot cd and i think your only option is a complete reformat of your harddrive and reinstalling your operating system

This is a message from the BIOS telling you that it has detected a problem in the launching of the boot - no bootloader was detected. This usually happens when the Network is set as the first device in boot order - change that to the correct way, the hard disk first.
If you have the hard disk set as the first boot device that message means that the hard disk has died. Junk it, buy a new one and reinstall Windows.
My acer 7520 opens with an error reading NVIDIA
This error message could be a faulty hard disk or a faulty disk controller.
Reseat the hard disk to see if the problem is fixed.
If not go into the BIOS settings and check if the BIOS can detect the hard disk.
If the hard disk is not detected then remove the hard disk and connect it to an USB hard disk adapter and connect it to a working computer's USB port. If the this computer cannot detect it as an external hard drive then the hard drive is faulty. Then the Acer needs a replacement hard disk and Windows installed together with the laptop's device drivers and programs etc.
