Where do I plug in

When looking at the motherboard with the back of the computer to your left, there should be a row of pins on the lower right corner of the motheboard (or close to the corner). These pins are normally marked as something like PLED (for the power LED), PWR SW for power switch, RST for reset, IDE LED for the hard drive light, etc.
The power switch is normally along the bottom row and the power LED is on the top. But--to find where the power switch goes, take a small screwdriver and short two of the pins to see if the computer turns on. If it does, you've found the power switch. When the computer is running, put the power LED plug across two pins to see if the power light lights. If it doesn't, try two more until you find it.

I have a emachines T5274

It sounds like you may be trying to load a lot of temp files.
Go to CNet.com download Advanced Systems Care "Free Edition"
Follow the directions to clean up your system.
If that does not fix the problem Download a copy of Glary Registry Repair (also free) and run that.
These are two of the best software packages to have.
I have been useing them both for a long time, and have tried others, but these two are far and away the best I have found- and they are free!

Where do i plug in the power switch in the mother

The eMachines T5274 uses an ECS 945GCT-M3 motherboard.

This is ECS Support, and the download page for the motherboard manual,

http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Product/Product_Detail.aspx?DetailID=719&CategoryID=1&MenuID=16&LanID=0

To the right of the Download Site heading, (At the bottom), left-click on the country nearest yours.

This is a PDF file download. Takes a few seconds to see the first page come up, and additional time for the file to fully download.

After the file has fully downloaded, go to Page 11.
(The PDF file page number box at the top, next to the blue Down Arrow, will show 11)

In the motherboard photo shown, the number 12 points to Panel1.

This is the Front Panel header.
(The Front Panel is the plastic front of your computer. This particular connector is referred to as a Header)

Barring you cannot download the motherboard manual, I will explain in detail as I go along.

Orient the motherboard in your mind, so that we are both looking at it in the same direction.

Processor to the top, Ram Memory slots to the right, Panel1, (Front Panel header), is at the bottom Right corner, and is along the edge of the motherboard.

Page 33.
There are 2 rows of pins. One row along the top, one row along the bottom.

4 pins along the top, 5 pins along the bottom.

The Bottom row of pins are numbered Odd.
The numbering starts from the Left side of the motherboard, and goes towards the Right.

The Top row of pins are numbered Evenly.
Numbering starts from the Left side of the motherboard, and goes towards the Right.

Top row numbering of pins, starting from the Left side, going towards the Right,
2, 4, 6, 8, and 10. There is No pin 10. Just a flat spot.

Bottom row numbering of pins, starting from the Left side, going towards the Right,
1, 3, 5, 7, and 9

Page 33.

A) Pins 1 and 3 are for the HarDDrive activity LED light.

Hard Disk LED (+) The Positive wire of the HDD LED light goes to Pin 1.
The Negative wire of the HDD LED light goes to Pin 3.
More than likely if the wires are marked, only the Positive ( + ) wire will be marked. Usually with a little tag that has + symbol on it.

B) Pins 5 and 7 are for the Reset switch.
IF, a reset switch is offered on your eMachines.

Pin 7 is for the Positive wire. (+)
(It isn't necessary to have a Reset switch. It's a restart switch. Used to restart your computer, and there are many other options available)

C) Pin 9 is reserved, and not used.

D) Pins 2 and 4 are for the Power On LED light.
Pin 2 is for the Positive wire. (+)
(If the two wires are reversed, the Power On LED light will be dim)

E) Pins 6 and 8 are for the Power On switch.
Pin 6 is for the Positive wire (+)

Have any questions regarding this, post in a Comment.

Taking 7 minutes to boot up

You may have a virus infected. I would get it checked out or try to trouble-shoot yourself.
Please follow this guide for how to install a good anti-virus program that is free forever.

If this doesn't speed things up please write back.

Replaced CPU fan, now only repeating 3 beeps on

ensure that you didn't put the Heatsink on backwords, alot of times these types of errors will occur when the heatsink is improperly installed..
also, check to make sure your ram is fully seated, and all power connections are fully seated.
if you removed any of the hard drive / cd-rom cables, be sure you put them back on correctly (red line to pin 1)

When turning on the pc it beeps for like 2 secs

2 beeps means Ram problem, boot the system by Mounting the memory stick one after another and find out which one is the culprit. You'll need to replace it. Good luck. Thanks for using FixYa.

Boot manager is missing an cd drive is not reading

make an ISO image of an operating system in a flash drive preferably in a 8GB one.
then from bios enable boot for other device
and if there is an option change the 1st priority boot device to others.. or usb as available.
**make sure it not hard drive, else you will keep on getting the same message.

then power on the computer and you can reinstall the os.
then check if the issue of Cd drive is fixed or not.
if not, open the chasis and reseat the cables of the drive and try again.
if that also does not works, let me know I have a work around...

but i cant ensure there is any other hardware problem we'll check.

My computer monitor has a green tint to it, can't

First, check your video cable. It should be securely connected to the computer (and monitor if not built in). If you can, try a new cable. Try the monitor on a different computer and the computer with a monitor that works on another computer. (This tests if the monitor or the video output is the issue.) Once you figure out where the failure is, you can decide whether to repair or replace the monitor, or deal with the video card.

I hope this helps.

(we had a monitor that went pink due to a loose vga cable. once we looked at the cable instead of the computer or monitor adjust buttons, the fix was easy.)

Does my t5274 have tv-out function?

It does not have a TV-out function as it comes from E-Machines, but it does have an open PCI-X expansion slot, so you could buy a video card with TV-out if you wanted to add that feature.

If this helps, please be sure to hit the "thumbs-up" button for me.
If not, use the "add comment" and I'll do my best to help

Restore bios

if your flashed your bios, the easiest option would be to contact your manufacture and have them send your another bios chip if yours is removable, if not you would need to send the motherboard back to have them reflash it.

The driver is not detected by laptop

Is your dvd drive capable of doing light scribe?: If not, then the driver won't make it work. It takes a special drive to use lightscribe, and it should be part of your CD/DVD burner software. I highly recommend Nero software as the best, more reliable and easiest to use. Also, it the brand that usually comes with New CD and DVD drives.

Optiarc dvd rw ad-7561a ata device

had the same issue and was able to resolve it by going to HP Compaq's websibe (for you it would be eMachine) and they provided the following information & i uninstalled the driver in device manager after running the below fix, scan the system for new hardware and the DVD drive appeared with the correct driver. hope this helps. good luck.

------------------------------------------
To resolve this issue, remove upper and lower limits from the registry. Upper and lower limits are points of your computer's registry that control the drivers for your specific device—in this case, the optical drive. Remove upper and lower limits from the registry using the Microsoft Fix this problem link below: c01733077.jpg If Microsoft's automatic fix does not resolve the issue, try using the other methods listed in this document to troubleshoot the issue.

My emachines dvd rom is not detecting a dvd in the drive

Dissamble the dvd rom from pc. Open it and clean the laser with a soft cloth or try a dvd lens cleaner disk. You can buy it from any hardware shop. Connect the cables correctly. Start with a fresh dvd disk. If your pc still can't detect dvd disc, replace dvd rom with a new one.
