Flashing the letter f
Is it flashing just the letter "F", or are there two dashes after it? If so, what lens do you have mounted on the camera?

When on Auto setting the F-Stop starts flashing
Turn it off and on again, or remove the battery. when you turn it on again and have the same message, remove the lens and return it back again. The problem is with the lens, 18-105mm, it is made of plastic mount that causes the camera to have error. I experienced the same with my D90, but when I changed my lens from 18-105mm to 18-200mm, the problem doesn't appear, coz the 18-200mm have the steel mount. I tried to use the 18-105mm with d200, and have the same problem, so i conclude that the problem is with the lens itself.

Fee is on the screen and won't let me take a
You're using a lens with an aperture ring. Turn the ring to its smallest setting (largest f/number). You can control the aperture from the camera body the same way as on a lens without an aperture ring.

How many images can you get with an 8GB card
That depends on the image size and compression. You should be able to get about a thousand RAW pictures on it. You should be able to get as many as thirty thousand small basic JPEG pictures.

D90 Nikon F--- Error Display Problem?
No, it's not a common problem with this lens. Try cleaning the electrical contacts, both on the back of the lens and in the lens mount on the camera.

Nikon d90 - can't take the picture
You just found the Nikon D90 F-- error message solution!
I had the same problem with the Nikon d90 F-- error message which drove me nuts!
I called Nikon, they walked me through a lengthy reset procedure which didn't work. After spending a few hours researching online, I found the answer.
It is not the memory card or nor a defective camera body. The lens does not need to be rechipped.
The F-- error means the camera is unable to communicate with the lens and is caused by a poor connection between the ground contact pin on the lens and the metal mounting ring on the camera. Most people buy the camera, install the lens once and then encounter the error. This one time lens installaiton does not give the contact point a chance to seat itself properly. You will find that if you hold down the lens release button and twist the lens as if to remove and reinstall the lens about 10 times that the problem will disappear. You don't even have to actually pull the lens away from the body, just press the release button and twist on and off and allow the friction to provide a better electrical contact.
Too bad Nikon doesn't tell their customers about this simple fix. Other than that, great camera. Good luck.

Error message display in iso.
The E in the ISO field simply indicates that there is no memory card installed. This is not an error, as you stated that you haven't inserted a memory card. Put in the memory card and format it, and this will go away.
