Having a problem signing into Google talk, when I try to sign in I receive this error message:
Connecting to Google Talk servers has failed due to an expired authentication certificate. The common cause of this expired certificate is due to time differences between your computer and the Google Talk servers. Please verify your computer's clock settings and then press Retry.
Why am I getting this error what does it matter to Google in which time zone I am?
To resolve this problem adjust the Date and Time Properties of your computer.

This error most commonly appears when you have no connection to the internet.
If your internet connection is working, you may have an issue with your firewall or proxy server. First, make sure that your firewall is configured to Allow Google Talk; we've provided instructions for some of the more popular firewall applications below:

google talk is blocked in my pc.. to access google talk what should i do?
It is quite simple.
1. Open this in your browser ie. firefox :
http://talkgadget.google.com/talkgadget/client
2. Now bookmark this in your firefox bookmark folder.
3. Goto your bookmark and navigate to G-talk shortcut, right click on it and goto properties and enable “Load this bookmark in sidebar”
You are done. Now whenever you will open gtalk web based client from bookmarks, it will open in sidebar.
window.google_render_ad();

i want to buy credit in google talk
Google Talk recently launched this feature where you can call any phone number just by having a Gmail account. Follow the instructions below to purchase your Google Voice Credit;
1. Log in to your account in Gmail
2. Click the phone icon just below your chat box that says "Call phone"
3. A dialer will appear in the bottom of the page
3. In the dialer's right corner, you can see your available credit.
4. Click on your available credit and choose "Add Credit" from its option
5. Now you will go to a screen that shows that you can purchase $10 for your Google Voice Credit.
6. This will be via Google Checkout. If you have an account with Google this should not be a problem, if none, then just get your credit card information ready.
Goodluck!

username and password do not match (you provided username) Why i am not able to sign into my account by gtalk?
I just figured this out now, not 100% if it will work for everyone.
But if you cannot access the talk client, but you can access your e-mails. try this, it worked for me.
from your gmail page, in the top right corner there is a cogwheel, labled settings, hit that.
Hit the tab called "Accounts&Imports"
Hit the Link for "Other Google Account Settings"
A new Tab is now open, "My Account" on the security settings press the link "Authorising Apps & sites"
Near the bottom of this page "Step 1 of 2: Generate new application-specific password"
Pick something your CERTAIN to remember, and write it down.
A new window text field is created this is your "USE ONCE" password for your machine.
its a random assortment of letters 16 long.
Copy + Paste this in the space for your normal password.
You need to do this once, to authorise THIS machine to use your account settings,
You can now log in and out, and back in again using your normal user name and password.
Far Fetched way to authorise your account ! but its secure, and once you know your way around in the setting menus, its actually very simple.
Hope this helped at least one person
