I had this same problem. I looked at the motor, and on one end (the end opposite where the water comes out) there is a hole in the middle. In that hole is a regular screw tip, which can be used to turn the motor. I filled the tub, inserted a slotted regular screwdriver and turned it about 8 times clockwise, then 8 times counterclockwise. You should see the whole motor turn. Doing this loosened it up, and then it started.

Once it started, all kinds or residue came out, which was probably why it had stopped working. I hadn't used it for a while.

After getting it running I'm going to run some cleaning solution through it, and make sure I run it more often to prevent this in the future.

Try and blow the lines out with air, sounds like something is stuffing the water jet. Drain system and turn off power first.

replace pump.

Shut water off and remove knobs. Replace valves on side leaking. Go to Home Depo they will help.

This sounds like maybe you have a bad circuit on the control that turns the pump on/off. Get the model number off the control box under the tub and let me know what it is and we can solve that issue for you. Rod US Parts Center 888-521-6183

How do you turn this on? If it is an air button that you push, it may well be the air switch in the motor is bad. The air switch is latching so when you push the button on the tub it closes the switch and lets the power go to the motor. When the button is pushed a 2nd time the switch will open and shut off the power going to the motor. An air switch will cost about $21 to purchase. Rod US Parts Center

If you press the air button in and it does not turn the pump off you need to check a couple things.

• is the hose still attached to the bottom of the air button and the air switch on the pump
• check the air switch in the motor - it probably needs to be changed.

Open the access panel and see if the motor is working or just trying to work. Sounds like it may need lubrication.

have you checked for cracks in the fiberglass body?

It kind of sounds like you have not purged air from near the pump impeller. Try adding water through the filter, often times this forces prime.

what you need to do is a series of tests to narrow down the problem. first place to start is with the motor. Pull the motor out and see if it will come on when you apply power to it. If it will not start when you put power to it then the motor is not good and will need to be replaced.

look on the back of the motor there should be a shaft that you can try to turn to spin free because something inside the pump is blocking it. rate me if this is helpful.

these things usually use an air switch to turn them on and off. I would check that to see if it functions properly

Sounds like the filter may need to be cleaned.

Each of the jets have rubber gaskets. The continual heat and cemicals starts to deterioate these and the tub leaks around the jets. This is not always noticeable do to the fact that the water is hot and tends to evaporate. But even a small leak multiplied by all the jets adds up. 1996 is a long time and the replacement of these gaskets are overdue. sounds air bound,....turn the others off while leaving the air bound one open, this should force the air out,....don't run it to long without working right (not good for motor),..good luck, cracklin joe
