CUTLER HAMMER BR4040B200V BREAKER CIRCUIT 40 200 AMP VALUE-PAK Questions & Answers
Why do i get power at the 120v outlet but nothing works when its plugged into the outlet
It sounds like a bad neutral wire. Somewhere the neutral is not properly connected. Most residential wiring operates on a 240 single phase system comprised of two seperate 120 volt legs. Connect between either leg to the neutral gives you 120 volts.connect btween the two legs gives you 240 volts. If the neutral is not present the circuit will search out the other leg to try to complete the circuit causing dimming of lights extremely bright lights and all around chaos. Check ahead of the main to see that the voltage is correct. Check each leg to neutral with a voltage tester. Have some one turn some lights on and off while checking as sometimes a load is required to get fluctuating readings. If the reading fluctuate wildly the problem is between the power grid and the panel. If not recheck on a a couple of breakers and if the readings fluctuate it is on your side of the system.

THere is no electricity in the bedrooms and I can't get them back on?
If the circuit breaker will not reset - all the way off and then back on with a click sound. Then something you have plugged into the outlets in those rooms is probably shorted causing an over current condition. If the circuit breaker won't reset, shut off all lights and then unplug EVERYTHING and then see if it will reset. If it does, then replug everything one at a time until the electricity goes off again, that is the bad apple. But if it won't reset, then your breaker is probably bad. Yes, they do go bad, just infrequently.
Can I replace a CEB CU/AL QB breaker with a QBH CU one?
nope breaker has to be rated for the aluminum wiring. if your home is wired with al wiring u need to be really worried bout that. it becomes a fire hazard awhile. should only use al for larger size wires and personally I wouldn't do that either
How to take apart cutler-hammer series B1 contactor
contactor itself replace it, to remove it from housing you should be to find some screws holding and just remove and replace. if you have the replacement already mark where the wires come from that u take lose
Gfi breaker keep triping
Might be their job or it's gone.
1. replace the breaker (cheap and fast) ... they do go bad.
2. Remove everything from the circuit and try each to find the short.
I just removed a cutler
Check where the main power wires come in to see if is has been properly sealed. Moisture may have found its way in through the opening and caused the problem. Hope this helps.
