When I press the trigger nothing comes out can you help he?

It sounds like you have a bad seal or O-ring. without takeing it apart and looking at it myself i cant tell you witch one is bad.if take it apart look the orings and seals over real well and se if you can find any distorted places on them and then you can find a breakdown of the nailer and buy the seals or O-rings on this site.http://www.ereplacementparts.com/

Nails fail to feed

Without knowing your model number here are some things to check, in order of difficulty:1. First make sure you're using the proper nails for your gun. If your gun isn't specifically listed on the box of nails as compatable make sure they are seating in your gun properly. Some brands of angled nails are a couple degrees off from others and won't work in competetor's guns.2. Check the entire feed path of the nails in the magazine all the way up to where the driver catches the next nail. Sometimes dirt builds up in the track or there could be a peice of nail stuck in there preventing the nails from getting under the driver. Also the spring on the feed shoe should have strong pressure on the shoe all the way up to the head and the shoe has to ride freely in the magazine.3. If the gun is making holes in the wood the driver isn't broke but it must be straight and true and the tip square. If not it will miss or slip off the nail before driving it. The only way to check the driver is to remove the head on the gun and take the driver out. The piston & driver should travel from the top to the bottom of the cylinder without binding anywhere. Correct any problems you find or replace any damaged parts and your gun should work.

My nail gun miss fires. seems there is not enough

Could be that the driver is not returning to top of the cylinder. Easy test, when the gun miss fires, remove air line, with thin metal, insert thru nose and push driver up. Retest gun. If driver was down a bit then nails will not feed. Remove head and check that driver oring is making good seal, lubed, and is not too tight or bent. Also check that lower bumper is not cracked or missing pieces. Replace parts as needed. If driver was all the way up, clean rails and pusher assembly with wd40 and follow with good cleaning with air. If pusher and rails working properly, must be problem with bad batch of nails, slightly thicker or wider head not allowing nail to easily slide. Open nose latch and check that nails slide thru easily.

16 ga nails dont set flush to wood.

Assuming that the nail head not setting in and adjusting depth control does not remedy. Usually occurs when the tip breaks off. Remove the head and pull out the driver to examine tip. If tip broken or bent, replace with new or try to adjust as needed. If about 1/16 of tip broken, reshape the driver so that the tip is just slightly wider than nail head, taper the lower 1/4 inch on the side of the driver that faces the nails so that the driver will only strike one nail and reduce (shave) the size of the lower bumper so that the driver will extend out same amount that you need due to broken tip(only works if 1/16 -1/8 broke off).

FN250B 16 ga.: I

There is an upper bumper that has a tendancy to split. When the part fails, air will blow out the back vent. The driver will not retun to top if the driver is bent, upper or lower bumper cracked, piston oring too tight or too loose or check band is not in place. Easy to check. Remove head and examine parts. Also make sure that the check valve is in place on the lower part of the cylinder. Pull out the cylinder and notice row of holes. Check band fits over row of holes. Finally make sure that the lower bumper is not cracked or missing pieces. Parts are available at www.toolpartsdirect.com Good luck

Is the Porter CableFN250C oiless

Just a couple of drops of oil into air inlet twice a day is all that is needed (little more for heavy use). Nail gun oil is sold at Lowes in the tool department (cost about 3 to 5 dollars, any brand will do ). You can also use any light non detergent oil like sewing machine oil. Store/hang your gun with the air inlet pointing down so that access oil can run out of the gun over night. If no oil/water comes out of the gun, you are using the correct amount and you are draining the water out of the compressor. Good luck

My porter cable Finish Nailer

You can reuse the oring from the old cylinder. Easy to install. The cylinder will break when the driver bends or breaks. If the driver looks good, dont worry about anything. Remove nails. Slip the driver into the cylinder and push driver and cylinder into body of the gun. Replace head.

I'm using a FN250A 16ga (serial number473403)

Best nailer for the job is 15 gauge. Mush stronger nail. However raising the pressure to max may help overcome blow out. Nails with 3 or 4 point tip (as used in Senco nailers) will also help (if you can find them). Most 15 gauge nails have two sided flat tip. Good luck
