Just replace batteries. Technician took out onboard charger because wires were frayed. Gave me external charger to use. Now indicator lights up as fully charged, but chair won't move.

Hello, this may be a late answer. I would have returned to the technician for answers, also. It may be possible to regenerate batteries so hang on to them until you have them tested. Hope this helped .

What voltage should come out of a 24 v 3 pin charger? single 12 v pin with two ground pins?

It depends on how it and the wheelchair are wired and how the voltage is derived. Presumably the 24 volt wheelchair requirement is provided by two 12 volt batteries connected in series and these could be recharged in series by a 24 volt charger and a pair of wires or by a 12 volt charger providing a 12 - 0 - 12 using three wires where one 12 is a positive in relation to the 0 and the other is a negative in relation to the zero making a potential difference of 24 volts. There could conceivably be circuitry within the wheelchair that requires only 12 volts for recharging and causes the two batteries to be charged separately, though while this method could be desirable and offer some benefits it would be considered unnecessarily expensive and complicated for most commercial purposes. As usual you really need to know what is supposed to happen or is designed to happen before fault-finding can begin. One of the wires could be a safety ground wire but most likely it is used to provide some sort of feedback to the charger from, perhaps, a thermal switch close to the batteries so charging will cease if too much heat is generated.

What batteries do I need to buy for my jazzy 1113 power chair?

Your chair uses two U-1 batteries. Here's the manual: http://www.pridemobility.com/includes/download.php?f=Owners_Manuals/US_Jazzy/US_Jazzy_1113_ATS_om.pdf Since you're about to replace them anyway, you might try something else first.. Your charger is a "smart" charger. If the charge on the batteries is too low, the charger won't recognise them as bateries, and won't charge them. Get access to the batteries (it's in the manual) and disconnect them. Keep track of where the wires came from. Use an old, non-"smart", car charger to put a quick charge on them. Bring them up to 12 V each, or just an hour apiece. Hook everything back up and try it again with the Pride charger. Good luck.

Should power be turned off while charging the jazzy 60

Doesn't matter. When you plug in the charger it automatically shuts off power to the scooter. If it doesn't then look inside the charger plug for a broken wire

Will not charge up has been sitting for along

You need to charge each battery individually with an automotive NON automatic battery charger until at least 10 volts is reached. The chair charger will not charge a battery unless that voltage is present.

Where is the freewheel lever located on the jazzy 1113?

Original Jazzy Select has push-down levers on each side behind powered wheels. These manually disengage the brakes on each motor individually. They are about 6 inches long and push down an inch or so. I don;t know about other more current models, The 2 smaller wires to each motor disengage the brake when given power (24 volt, I think). The 2 larger wires run the motor.

The chair is locked. I had this happen a long

If it is the older VSI controller, turn on chair. as the battery lights scroll, hold the joystick in the (UP) position until you hear a beep. Then immediately place the joystick in the (down) position until you hear a beep. then place the joystick in center position, once you hear the beep for the final time, it should be unlocked. If you have a Dynamic controller, turn on chair then press the horn button to unlock.

I only have slow speed

Hello there, the Pride Jazzy 1113 wheel chair has two main assemblies: the seat and the power base. Typically, the seating system includes the armrests, the seatback, the seat base, and the controller. The power base assembly includes two drive wheels, two anti-tip wheels, two rear caster wheels, a body shroud, four frame assemblies (located under the body shroud), two battery boxes, and the electrical connectors.
The unit has only a handful of reasons for the unit to function at only slow speed. The first being the battery being low, when the battery is low there is a probability for the unit to function this way. Next option is the controller connector which is where the controller connects to the power base if the connection is not properly done then the unit could be on slow. Finally the controller power module if this is faulty then the motors will not receive enough power to make the unit go on speed.
Check all of these, the reason for your unit being on slow would be one of the above mentioned.
Hope this support has been helpful?
