Blockage Repair

Your focus indicates a sewer issue and not a drain issue. The first challenge is to determine which branch leg of the sewer is the issue and then assess where all your access ports are. Sometimes an outside access port has been covered over by dirt/mulch etc. If you know where the blockage is ... then as mentioned by other contributors ... you will need a snake. They can be hand driven or motor driven. For great access to the blockage you may need to remove the closest toilet, since snaking through the lower S trap of the toilet really inhibits the snake's effectiveness. Depending on how your house is built ... the roof sewer vent pipes can be a good access point (and sometimes that is where the debris has gotten into your sewer if you have overhanging trees). I have had success with running a garden house up to the roof and down through the vent pipe. You need to have a second person watching by the the toilet to make sure it does not back flow on to the floor. You can get hose spray attachments which help propel the hose and add turbulence to break the blockage ... but I have never tried them. If your blockage is recurring over the seasons ... and if you have a number of trees close to your sewer line outside then you can have tree root intrusion into the sewer. In that case you need a professional with a special snake that actually has cutting capability to remove the roots. Attached are 3 photos ... manual snake, motor snake, hose spray nozzle Good luck with your troubleshooting! capture2-bc3vgyatevd4ip5u5o1k1tox-1-0.png capture1-bc3vgyatevd4ip5u5o1k1tox-1-2.png capture-bc3vgyatevd4ip5u5o1k1tox-1-5.png

How do I remove the plastic insert to access the cartridge on a Kohler K-171 kitchen faucet?

To remove the plastic insert on your Kohler K-171 kitchen faucet, you can follow these steps: First, turn off the water supply to the faucet. Next, remove the handle of the faucet by unscrewing the set screw on the underside of the handle using a hex wrench or an Allen key. Once the handle is removed, you should see a plastic insert that covers the cartridge. To remove this insert, use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry it off. Once the plastic insert is removed, you should be able to access the cartridge. If you need more detailed instructions, you can refer to the installation manual for your Kohler K-171 kitchen faucet .

Have Taboret K 8201-4 bathroom faucet with T handles.

Question edited to fix the typos. Always worrying when they discontinue lines, and it makes you wonder why? https://www.us.kohler.com/us/taboret-centerset-bathroom-sink-faucet-with-lever-handles/productDetail/product:420060/420060.htm I normally find that they use steel screws and they stick. Make some sort of a dam around the screw with stout polythene like Ziploc bag and electrical tape to seal the base. Then squirt penetrating oil or WD40 in there to cover the screw head. Top it up a couple of times a day and do that for two days. That should loosen it up and get the oil down the threads. Often it is just easier to buy a new set.

Is there suppose to be a o ring at the bottom when replacing a kohler taboret cartridge

I assume you mean the separate H/C valve body as opposed to single handle(bath/shower). https://www.us.kohler.com/us/Taboret-t-handles/productDetail/product:417141/417141.htm?skuId=341208 There is one O ring just below threads of body. k1-5ywlvxu2h1hgmzvnljvnapjw-2-0.png

Valve is set to far into the wall...

First, your not going to like the solution. There really is no way to solve this on kohler faucets. Some companies make adapters but as far as I know kohler isn't one of them. Hopefully you can cut a hole in the drywall behind and put it where it should be, if not the marble comes back off.

Hot water comes before cold water for Kohler Mixer Pressure Kit

If this is a tub/ shower valve, you installed the cart. upside down. Reversing it should solve the problem. You might have put it in according to instructions but the hot and cold might have been reversed when the valve was plumbed in.

We have Kohler wide spread Bancroft metal handle sink faucets. The left handle is wobbly from the base of the handle there are no Allen holes or screws how can I fix this?

The bottom half of the handle spins CCW to losses the handle from the body. You can then tighten the screw inside the handle.

My Kohler Forte K-10270-4 bathroom faucet leaks just below the hot water handle. The water dribbles out from the top of the flange that attaches the handle. What Kohler parts do I need to fix this?

It takes new valve cartridges and sometime complete valve bodies. Call Kohler, it should be covered by their lifetime warranty. They are very good about service.
