Hondan 160 gas engine will not stay running but just a few seconds after gas is put in carb

If it had set for a time, the jets may be obstructed. Have the carb rebuilt. Also make sure that there is fuel flow to the carb.

Battery not charging gx670

The voltage regulator may be bad, will need to unplug magneto and use multi meter and test magneto for voltage output on milliamp scale with the engine cranking, If voltage is present when cranking then the voltage regulator is bad , if no voltage then the pick-up coil and stator will need to be replaced. Gx670 24hp honda runs 5 min. then dies getting plenty of fuel

Pull the spark plugs out and check their color - as this will tell you if the engine is flooding out or you have an ignition system failure. If they are black check to make sure the choke is opening up and staying open. If the ceramic is light and not brown then the ignition system is failing. Honda gx620 on golf cart occasionally bogs down & blows enormous cloud of white smoke from exhaust.gas getting in oil also.runs great until this happens

What ussually causes white smoke to come out the exhaust is oil being sucked up in carb. Typical causes are too much oil in crank case or PVC valve. Or really bad piston rings

Engine won't run unless I

rebuild or replace the carb- it isn't working properly. You may just need to clean it good as there may be a partial blockage.

I have a gx620 engine. I am getting fuel to the carburator, but nothing is coming through. If I dump fuel in the carb it starts, but only till it burns what I put in. Not sure what to do?

My engine starts ok but it is blowing huge amout of blue smoke out the exhaust. I can smell the smell of oil burning what may the problem be?

How many miles are on it? It could be worn out rings, valve guides and seals, cylinder could be worn out of specs, etc.. Either way, too much oil is entering the combustion chamber.

I have a mule with a honda gx620 v twin engine and

I am going to respond more than once here. What is this attached to? Usually when an engine just speeds up the causes are a lean fuel mixture or a vacuum leak. To search for a vacuum leak the easiest way is to use an UNLIT hand help propane torch that is barely turned on and listen for the engine to speed up when you pass the tip over the area of the leak.
Additionally the throttle shaft wears and allows the intorduction of air where the throttle shaft pivots in the body of the carb. Remove the air cleaner and reach into the throat and see if the throttle shaft and butterfly move in any direction other than rotation.

Since it seems to work fine under load and at speed I really think we are dealing with a vacuum leak or worn throttle shaft issue here.

I will be digging into the service manual and will provide a link if it is available for free. I will send that in my next response. I have another task to do today that may take several hours before I can respond. I am currently waiting for the customer to arrive. If the customer arrives I will be busy for a while but promise to repsond again. Just know if it is a while that I am doing other work at the moment.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly
