Is Aveeno Colloidal Oatmeal Treatment safe for this American Standard Installed Whirlpool Bathtub?

Hi Virginia, I've done some research on tubs with jets, and from what I've read I wouldn't put anything granular in the water. The granules may damage your pump and also when the water stops some granules will be left in the pipes, where they will decompose and turn into.... well, I don't think it'll be nice.

Black debris is coming out

If the tub is more than 5 years old the rubber pump impeller could be disintegration.
If the debris just seems to be dirt then fill the tub above the intake with HOT water ... then add some dish washing detergent to the water ... run the pump about 1/2 to 1 hour

Our air switch that turn our whirlpool tub on won't stay on unless you hold the button in.

The switch or a relay needs to be replaced. If the switch is a push on - lock - push off, then it is bad. Probably the locking mechanism on the switch has worn or failed. It it is momentary on - off, then a relay that might be in line with it would be bad. Without the schematics, it is hard to troubleshoot at this time.

The push, turn on control has become very difficult to push on and off what can i do?

Disconnect power from the system. 2. Purchase a can of www.ultra-lube.com (This type f lubricant will not cause breakdown of rubber, silicone or plastic seals) multi purpose lube. HomeDepot sells it. Black green and silver spray can. 3. Remove the knob using the right size Allen wrench. 4. Spray lube into the neck of the actuator. 5. Wipe off any lube from the knob shaft. 6. Re install the knob and push pull a few times to distribute the lubricant. 7. Restore power and test system.

If this does not solve the problem then there may be a mechanical failure in progress. Go online at the manufactures website to order a new switch. Btw, I’m available to help over the phone in case u need at https://www.6ya.com/expert/john_28069c9efb56199d

I have a swirlbath whirlpool tub and the air hose fell off the push button switch on the side of the tub. The tub is 19 years old and the switch is against the wall side of the tub. How do I hook it u

Yo Dennis, When I had to replace a switch on my unit I had the same problem. Jacuzzi uses double sided tape to hold the switches in place and they are a bear to get off. Try some dental floss or fishing line under the switch body to "saw" through the tape and lift the switch out. Maybe use a hair dryer first to try to soften the adhesive, but at 19 years it may be rock ??. You may have to pry the switch out (!!) with a screwdriver (rag underneath) and the old plastic may grenade. A new one may be needed. Be prepared for very little slack in the air line. I had a hard time reconnecting mine and ended up having to add a couple inches of tubing with adapters. No fun. The switches are mounted from below at the factory, so slack is not an issue. All the best.
