If there is a  threaded nut on the back of the jet, undo the nut as much as possible and push the jet out into the tub. Spread aquarium grade silicone around the jet and push back into the hole, put more silicone in front of the nut, you may have to spread it in the small area with your finger or if you can squirt it in from the tube of silicone. If there is no  threaded ring on the backside of the jet, go to the jet in the tub and looking down on the jet, turn it to the right. It should pop and pull out of the housing. There will be a retaining ring that may require a special tool to remove it, once the ring is out, clean it very well, spread silicon on the threads and the lip. Reinstall in the hole, reinstall jet wait 24 hours and fill and test for leaks. Take you time and you will not have to do it over again. Check where the leak is coming from, sometimes there is a hairline crack in the jet assembly, if this is the case, make sure the area is dry then use a 2 part epoxy for plastic (from lowes or home depot) and smear this all over and around the crack, let dry 24 hours, fill and test.

whirlpool tub has jets that circulate the water, where an air bath uses bubbles that rise gently from the bottom of the tub. every motor has a frame size and horsepower listed on it. search for a new one that way. i would think since its driving a pump it will need to be a totally enclosed/driproof model

Did you turn the outer rings on the jets? They could be turned off. They are used to adjust the bubble flow, but also to turn them on or off.

first of all you need to be draining the tub completely and removing any bath mats or items from inside. Fill the tub with hot water, ensuring that the jets are covered. You can use white vinegar, 2-3 cups of white vinegar directly to the water in the tub. Turn on the whirlpool system and run it for 15-20 minutes. While the jets are running, use a soft-bristled brush to scrub the jet openings and the interior walls of the tub. Might not be the button, they use air pressure to travel through a tube to a remote switch near the motor. You have to get under it to see if the tubing is loose or cracked.

Hi Virginia, I've done some research on tubs with jets, and from what I've read I wouldn't put anything granular in the water. The granules may damage your pump and also when the water stops some granules will be left in the pipes, where they will decompose and turn into.... well, I don't think it'll be nice.

try a plumbers shop as it is a whirlpool tub you state that it is a whirlpool tub then you say don't know what brand of tub it is whirlpool is a brand name any way the plumbers display of bathroom units and tubs will help you as the jets used are generic and not specific for the tub
