Craftsman 25cc Gas Line Trimmer Questions & Answers
Craftsman 25cc Gas Line Trimmer dies when giving
Sounds like the carb is getting clogged. Drain the old fuel and make sure the fuel filter is attached to the fuel hose inside the fuel tank. SeaFoam or a product called Start will sometimes clean the carburetor. If not, you will need to have the carb rebuilt, flushed or replaced.
Also, check your muffler and spark arrest, sometimes if they are clogged, you will have a similar issue.
Only runs on choke
fit a diaphragm kit in the carby
the pump diaphragm is the first to fail and then the float diaphragm distorts and will not let in enough fuel to keep it running
How to remove clutch drum
In the middle of the drum is usually a small torx screw... I put pull cord rope inside where the plug goes to stop the piston from moving as I'm unscrewing it..
Do you have a gas line diagram for gas trimmer
If it has a primer bulb those typically connect to the carburetor at the diaphragm with a return line going to the tank. The larger line is for the carburetor fuel feed from the tank. All lines that are meant to draw fuel from the tank will feature a filter on the end usually inside of the tank.
How to replace fuel lines on model#358.791010
I had the same problem. If you replace the lines and you get them swapped, it just won't run. Nothing will be damaged. So then just swap them around. There are only two choices. Trial and error worked for me!
Why wont my craftsman 25cc start
99% of the time its a carb or fuel problem. Always run premium fuel and store the machine in a cool place less than 100 F
Might can put a drop or two of fuel down the carb and revive.

Probably needs new fuel lines to/from and in the tank. Have you been using ethanol gas? It eats up the fuel lines on 2 cycle motors. After you get it fixed, use only pure gasoline. I've had to rebuild two of mine so far!
Starts but wont run with choke off
My Yard Works was set at the factory to run with the choke partially on. They said it has something to do with the air pressure where we live. Otherwise if it has to have the choke on full then there should be a screw to set it so it will run with the proper setting
How to change my gas line on a 17 inch 25cc gas weedwacker trimmer/edger
basically this is a very simple thing to do as long as you have purchased the correct size of hose. Before removing the fuel line from the tank remove it from the carburetor. then you need a small bent wire or something like it to fish the filter out of the fuel tank. When you have that done you need to remove the filter and just pull the fuel line out. When you install the new line in the tank you need to snip the new fuel hose at an angle to help in the ease of re installing it. Once you get it started you can either reach into the tank with needle nose pliers and pinch it so you can pull it back into the tank. Or you can just twist it in a circular motion until it feeds itself into the tank. The rest is common sense. Install the fuel line filter and put it back into the tank then suck a little gas up the line so the carburetor don't have to do it. that'll prime the line and make it easier for the trimmer to start.
91 jag xj6 setting idle mixture
screw both screws in until they just come to a stop. One screw should have the letter H and the other screw should have the letter L stamped on the carburetor next to each screw. Once you have both screws turned in until they stop. It doesn't matter which one you back out first. If you do the H one first then turn it out approx 1 1/8 of a turn, the the L screw back that out approx 3/4 turn. Those are the initial factory setting. Now you have to fine tune from there. To finish fine tuning the trimmer work on the L screw until it idles smoothly and then set the idle screw to a speed when the head just starts to want to turn over. Once that's done work on the H screw by reving it up and keep it full throttle while you adjust the H screw in or out until you fine that nice high speed. then slack of the throttle and see if it still idles, if it does now give it a quick throttle up to see if the response from low to high is a smooth transition. If it bogs on the quick throttle then you need to open the L screw a small bit more and re adjust the idle screw. Good luck
