I had the same problem. I did the following and it now works great. The ice tray has a square tab on the rear leftside. As the tray rotates to dump the ice, the tab runs on a curved section of the the ice maker frame. The curved section becomes rough with use and causes the tray to stick when it is returning to the fill position. I carefully sanded the curved section of the frame to smooth it out. No problems since.
One does have to dismantle the ice maker to effect this repair.

Try closing the water valve slightly to reduce the water pressure to the unit.

I looked and looked in the manuals and the only thing that I found for dispensor and button was the lock and unlock of the dispensor - if you hold the lock button down for 3 secs it will either lock or unlock the buttons. So you need to check to see whether the controls are locked or not. If they are then unlock and set the temperature for the refrigerator and freezer on your control panel.

Whoever replaced the compressor obviously left a leaking solder joint. That needs to be fixed, after which the unit needs to be recharged.
