Replace the main pc board. Was part # 6871JK1011C, with a 5 amp light relay, now should use the new board, part # 6871JK10011F, with a 16 amp light relay, which will prevent relay contacts from welding themselves together. Should also replace the lamp socket harness with part # 6621JK2003B which now has a thermostat on it to prevent lamp from overheating and melting lamp cover. Contact a locally authorized LG servicer or LG directly to have the servicer replace this for free, even though technically it is out of warranty, LG will cover the repair. (servicer may need an authorization code to get credit from LG)

It may be your compressor. There has been a lot of complaints about this fridge. If the vents are blocked, it won't cool. The fridge has been the one that always goes out, mainly because the compressor. You will have to get someone out to fix it. Hopefully, your warranty is still good.

Hi, the easiest way to find out is to get your voltmeter out and trace it and follow where you have voltage and where you are are losing it. If you don't have a meter make a visual inspection by removing the cover to the electronic control. Pull the control and flip it over to find any burn marks...

the door switch control the light. check the switch
defrost thermostat and heat element control frost, check all of them
if u live near madison . wi , i charge u $100 fix the problem . part may be $100

Sorry to read about your problem. you can have many different problems.
1. Bad temp control
2. Failing compressor
3. Defective start cap
4. Defective overload protector
5. Defective control board

also check to see if your outlet is working at the wall plug

Change the supply line to the plastic tube line or copper. Do not use a braided plastic or metal braided line these will make the water taste bad. Changed mine to the plastic line and cured mine, no filters needed.

THE BOTTOM DRAIN MAY BE CLOGGED CLEAN THE DRAIN AND CHECK THE DEFROST TIMER

?? you left it open??? and now the lights arent workin is that correct??

if this is the case, no worry, the lights should havea built in thermosat that turn them off iff too hot( door left open) give it 20-30 min the lights will cool down and come back on.. its meant to do that soit doesnt coo yor food if the light switch ever fails
